New Dining option for Windstar Cruises - introducing Basil + Bamboo™

Luxury cruise enthusiasts and food lovers, take note – Windstar Cruises is elevating its culinary offering with an exciting new dining experience. Basil + Bamboo™, a brand-new complimentary specialty restaurant, will debut aboard Star Seeker, Windstar’s newest yacht, launching in December 2025. This innovative venue promises an exquisite blend of Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, offering an intimate dining experience for guests seeking something extraordinary at sea.

A New Era of Dining on Windstar Cruises

Basil + Bamboo™ is set to replace Cuadro 44 across the fleet, first appearing on Star Breeze in February 2025 before launching as the signature specialty restaurant on Star Seeker later in the year. With limited seating, the venue will provide an exclusive and immersive culinary journey, seamlessly merging two globally loved cuisines.

Guests can look forward to a diverse and thoughtfully curated menu featuring starters such as miso soup, tuna tartare, and an elegant sashimi, nigiri, and maki sampler. The main courses embrace bold flavours and premium ingredients, including:

  • Miso black cod with pea purée, Jamon ibérico de Bellota, and pickled wood ear

  • Free-range young chicken served with Jerusalem artichokes and yuzu kosho

  • Crispy Brussels sprouts glazed in Korean honey-soy

For those with a sweet tooth, the desserts are nothing short of spectacular, with choices like:

  • Citrus Olive Oil Cake with lemon cream and Greek yoghurt ice cream

  • Chocolate Caramel Crémeux, served with ginger-cinnamon hibiscus ice cream and sake caviar

A Culinary Symphony at Sea

Basil + Bamboo™ will be one of five distinct dining options aboard Star Seeker, ensuring every guest finds something to suit their palate:

  • Amphora – A refined main dining room offering a mix of classic and inventive dishes, including specialities from James Beard Foundation–affiliated guest chefs.

  • The Yacht Club – A relaxed café-style venue for breakfast and lunch, serving a combination of traditional and contemporary flavours alongside speciality coffee drinks.

  • Star Grill – A casual yet flavour-packed restaurant showcasing smoked, grilled, and barbecued meats, seafood, and vegetables.

  • 24-Hour Complimentary Room Service – Offering an extensive selection of dishes, including Amphora’s full dinner menu during dinner hours for those who prefer to dine in the privacy of their suite.

Basil + Bamboo™ will be open for dinner only, and reservations will be required to ensure an exclusive and relaxed dining experience.

A New Chapter for Windstar’s Fleet

Star Seeker, the latest addition to Windstar’s fleet, will offer 112 spacious suites, most featuring either a full private veranda or a floor-to-ceiling infinity window for breathtaking ocean views. The ship will set sail to some of the world’s most captivating destinations, including Alaska, the Caribbean, and Japan in 2026.
