Affiliation & Collaborations
My prime purpose for starting this blog was my love of both writing, travel and cruises - never as a money-making tool. However, as I am retired I need to make sufficient funds to run and maintain my website. Therefore, on occasion I may recommend items that I think you might enjoy. Iām obliged to discloses that as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. So if you buy something through my links, I might get a little something as a thank you. No extra cost to you, promise!
You may occasionally see the word [Ad] or (Invited/Gifted) on my social media posts. As content creators we are obliged by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) to be transparent where we are paid (either in money or by gifted experiences, travel or merchandise). Most bloggers/vloggers adhere to this (although there are others sadly that ignore it). Cruise Lines will occasionally host me onboard for a ship visit, or if I am very lucky, for an entire cruise. The only expectation is that I document our trip, usually on social media. However, there is no influence or control over my content or views which remain my own. I will be transparent when I have received a gifted item or experience, which I will only accept should I have complete editorial control over my content.
As a blogger, I come into contact with many brands (cruise lines predominantly), who like my blog and want to interact with you, my followers. If I feel that you could benefit in some way, I may agree to join their affiliate scheme - for example I do have an affiliate code for The Cruise Maps.
As a result, my content may include affiliate links from advertisers and I may also benefit in a small way from actions readers take on these links, such as a click, purchase, or subscribe.
However, these will only be brands that I believe are of interest to you. Views remain my own and I will endeavour to be transparent where content includes an affiliated link.
