Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady is one of the four adult-only Lady Ships in the Virgin Voyages fleet. She combines Virgin’s distinctive contemporary style with more than 20 included eateries, lively entertainment, a wide choice of cabins and suites, and a relaxed approach to cruising.

Valiant Lady is particularly popular with adults looking for something different from a traditional cruise. There are no formal dress codes, no children under 18, and no traditional cruise drinks packages. Instead, Virgin offers a more flexible way to spend your time and money onboard.

If you’re considering a Valiant Lady cruise, this FAQ answers some of the most common questions about the ship, including cabins, dining, drinks, entertainment and what is included in your fare.

If you’re comparing the different Lady Ships, our Virgin Voyages Guide is the best place to start. From there, you can explore our individual ship guides and more detailed Virgin Voyages advice.

Valiant Lady Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here is what you want to know: - but if you still have a question leave it in comments and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

How big is Valiant Lady?

Valiant Lady is a large cruise ship measuring around 110,000 gross tonnes. She is 278 metres (912 feet) long, with a beam of 38 metres (125 feet), and rises 17 decks above the water.

Valiant Lady can accommodate around 2,770 Sailors in 1,330 cabins. Like her sister ships, she has a high proportion of balcony accommodation, with a mixture of standard cabins, Sea Terraces, RockStar Quarters and larger suites.

Despite her size, Virgin Voyages has designed the ship around a collection of individual spaces rather than one huge central atrium, giving different parts of the ship their own character.

Is Valiant Lady all-inclusive?

Virgin Voyages describes its fares as Always Included, rather than traditional all-inclusive cruising.

Your Valiant Lady fare includes more than 20 eateries, Wi-Fi, group fitness classes, entertainment and gratuities, as well as essential drinks such as still and sparkling water, non-pressed juices, sodas, tea and drip coffee.

Alcoholic drinks, speciality coffees, fresh-pressed juices and other premium beverages cost extra.

Are Drinks Packages Available on Valiant Lady?

Are drinks packages available on Valiant Lady?

Virgin Voyages does not offer a traditional drinks package. Instead, you can purchase a prepaid Bar Tab, which works as drink credit for premium beverages.

Bar Tab can be used for alcoholic drinks as well as premium coffees, fresh juices, smoothies, mocktails and other premium beverages. You can also use it to buy drinks for other Sailors, so there is no requirement for everyone sharing a cabin to purchase their own.

Virgin frequently runs Bar Tab bonus offers, so the amount of extra credit available can change. Check the current offer before you sail rather than relying on an advertised bonus from an earlier promotion.

Any unused Bar Tab credit is not refundable at the end of your voyage.

Read our Virgin Voyages Bar Tab Guide.

How much are drinks on Valiant Lady?

Virgin Voyages is known for relatively straightforward drink pricing, with gratuities included in the advertised price.

Prices vary according to the drink, brand and venue, so rather than giving a list of prices that can quickly become outdated, it’s worth checking the current menus in the Virgin Voyages app before or during your voyage.

If you drink regularly, a Bar Tab can be a useful way of budgeting for premium drinks in advance.

See our Valiant Lady Bars Guide.

Can you take alcohol onboard Valiant Lady?

Yes. You can bring up to two 750ml bottles of wine, sparkling wine or Champagne per cabin when you embark, provided they are carried in your carry-on luggage.

You can enjoy your own bottles in your cabin without a corkage charge. If you take them to one of the ship’s eateries, a $25 corkage fee applies.

Beer and spirits cannot be brought onboard.

What is the dress code on Valiant Lady?

There is no formal dress code on Valiant Lady, which is one of the things that makes Virgin Voyages different from a traditional cruise line.

During the day, resort casual is perfectly at home. In the evening, you can wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, although many Sailors enjoy dressing up for dinner, drinks or a night out.

You won’t need to pack formalwear unless you want to. Virgin’s big nights, including Scarlet Night, are an opportunity to embrace the occasion rather than a requirement to follow a dress code.

What is there to do on Valiant Lady?

Entertainment is a major part of the Virgin Voyages experience. You can see live shows and performances in The Red Room, listen to live music, head to The Manor for late-night entertainment or take part in the many activities and events scheduled throughout your voyage.

There are also regular parties, pop-up performances and Virgin’s signature events, including Scarlet Night.

Entertainment varies from voyage to voyage, so check the Virgin Voyages app for the latest schedule once you are onboard.

Is Valiant Lady a family ship?

Valiant Lady is an adults-only cruise ship. Virgin Voyages’ Lady Ships are designed for Sailors aged 18 and over, so there are no children onboard.

That makes Valiant Lady particularly appealing to adults travelling as couples, groups of friends or solo travellers who prefer a child-free cruise environment.

What Cabin/Stateroom options are there?

Valiant Lady has a wide choice of cabins and suites, from compact Insider cabins to Sea View and Sea Terrace cabins, plus RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters.

Most cabins have Virgin Voyages’ distinctive contemporary styling, with flexible beds that can be configured as a double or twin arrangement. Sea Terrace cabins add a private outdoor terrace, while the RockStar accommodation comes with additional perks and access to dedicated spaces.

There are also larger suites for those looking for more space and a more luxurious experience.

Cabin layouts, locations and features vary considerably, so it’s worth checking the deck plans before choosing your cabin.

See our Valiant Lady Deck Plans and Cabins Guide for detailed information about the different cabin types and the best locations to consider.

Which Restaurants are Included on Valiant Lady?

One of the biggest attractions of Virgin Voyages is that its main restaurants and eateries are included in the cruise fare. There are more than 20 places to eat and drink across Valiant Lady, with no traditional speciality restaurant surcharge.

Gunbae – Korean BBQ with an interactive, sociable dining experience.

Extra Virgin – Virgin Voyages’ Italian trattoria, serving regional Italian-inspired dishes.

The Test Kitchen – An experimental restaurant where the food and presentation are part of the experience.

The Galley – A collection of food stations rather than a traditional cruise buffet, offering everything from burgers and tacos to noodles, sushi, salads and pastries.

The Dock – A relaxed outdoor venue serving Mediterranean-inspired small plates and grilled dishes.

The Pizza Place – Freshly made pizza with a choice of toppings.

Ariya by Razzle Dazzle – Valiant Lady’s modern Indian restaurant, introduced in 2026. Ariya occupies the Razzle Dazzle space in the evening and was developed in partnership with chef Maneet Chauhan.

Razzle Dazzle continues as a daytime dining venue, including breakfast and brunch, while Ariya takes over for its evening service.

The Lowdown

Valiant Lady is a good choice if you want an adults-only cruise that feels noticeably different from a traditional cruise ship. The dining is one of her biggest strengths, and the relaxed approach to dress and onboard life will appeal if you prefer to make your own rules rather than follow a formal cruise routine.

The ship has also evolved since she first entered service, so some older information about Valiant Lady, particularly restaurant names, drinks offers and cabin numbers, is now out of date. That’s why we’ve checked and updated this FAQ for September 2026.

For more detail, take a look at our dedicated Valiant Lady guides covering dining, bars and drinks, cabins and deck plans, and entertainment. And if you’re interested in what changed during the ship’s 2026 refresh, see our separate Valiant Lady dry dock guide.
