15 Things I Wish I’d Done On Valiant Lady
Valiant Lady Weekender Cruise - So Much to do and so little time to do it
There are lots of things I wish I’d had time to do or experience (and eat/drink) on our two recent short stays on Virgin Voyages Valiant Lady. The first visit was just an overnight for the launch party so I really only had time for a quick explore before dinner and then offski early the next morning. Our second visit was supposed to be a 3-night Weekender cruise which sadly got truncated to just two nights. Whilst I tried my best to do it justice (especially with lots of sailor loot to spend), the ship has so much to offer that it just wasn’t possible to do or see everything. (You can read what we did get up to in my review post.)
I decided, therefore, to collate a list of must-dos for next time. You might want to add it to your own list, or even let me know some additional ideas in the comments below.
My Valiant Lady To Do List
Have a hotdog in The Social Club diner - they looked delicious and are included, but I just didn’t get a chance to grab one.
Enjoy the cheesy pretzels and candy at The Social Club - there are jars of sweeties/candy and chunks of chocolate goodies to tempt you each time you pass through.
Play indoor shuffleboard/fussball - this looked so much fun. The sliding pucks on the shuffleboard table looked so satisfying.
4. Enjoy meze/tapas at The Dock House - again had to choose between restaurants with so little time. The small plates looked really appetising.
5. Indulge in the signature cocktail of EVERY bar - plus Shake for Champagene! I did my best but found I just reordered the same one each time and never moved on. I particularly recommend the Double Agent in Sip and The Entertainer in On The Rocks. Find out more about Bars on Valiant Lady with all the menus in my related post.
6. Go to a Drag brunch in Razzle Dazzle - this wasn’t available on our voyage as so short but sounds so much fun.
7. Take part in Salty Trivia and Risky Quizzness - I have a naughty sense of humour and love quizzes so win, win.
8. Participate in a bungy class (nah, joking)
9. Eat in Extra Virgin - we were supposed to eat here on our original first night but our itinerary changed.
10. Dare to get a (tiny) tattoo at Squid Ink - I was so close. I even went along to book (admittedly after a couple of signature cocktails) but they had booked up within 2 hours of boarding.
11. Dine in The Test Kitchen (after all, it’s included) - it didn’t appeal originally, but looking round and hearing from others I really want to enjoy the drama and taste the cocktail pairing menu (there are wine, beer and non-alcoholic pairings too).
12. Join the VHS Workout (sounds sooo much fun). A little known fact about me - I have a medal in disco dancing, with distinction I might add, gained when I was in my late twenties (what do you mean how can I remember that far back!).
13. Play a board game in Gamers Lab - I saw lots of people playing games from my childhood and looked a great way to while away a windy sea day.
14. Enjoy a Korean BBQ in Gunbae and try Soju. Again looked like a great vibe, but we could only choose two restaurants. I had a sneaky peak though and the food looked and smelled amazing!
15. Buy LOTS of Valiant Lady/Virgin Voyages Merch - I loved so much of it but the shops can only open when you are at sea so time again was limited.
