HX Expeditions Unveils 2027/28 Season and New Loyalty Programme
HX Expeditions launches its 2027/28 season with deeper, community-led travel experiences from Antarctica to Greenland and the Arctic.
HX Expeditions - the world’s first and longest-running expedition cruise company - has announced the launch of its 2027/28 season, marking a bold evolution in how it explores the planet. Instead of expanding into new destinations, HX is deepening its existing journeys, creating more immersive, authentic, and community-led experiences across the world’s most remote and awe-inspiring regions.
From Antarctica and Greenland to Arctic Canada, Patagonia, Iceland, and the Outer Hebrides, HX continues to redefine the meaning of exploration by focusing on quality and depth over quantity - the ultimate expression of slow, mindful travel.
“We’re not just adding new pins to our map – we’re going deeper,” says Gebhard Rainer, CEO of HX Expeditions. “Whether it’s exploring Greenland with local chefs or co-creating community-led experiences with Inuit Elders, we’re offering guests the chance to see the world differently.”

Part of HX’s iconic Northwest Passage itinerary, Arctic Canada will once again take centre stage in 2027/28 with new community-led excursions developed alongside Inuit Elders and local residents. Travellers will experience the Arctic through the eyes of those who have lived there for generations, gaining insight into Indigenous traditions, sustainable living practices, and the region’s deep-rooted cultural heritage.

These authentic, respectful encounters offer guests an unparalleled connection to place - and a powerful reminder that true exploration means listening as much as seeing.
Antarctica: Expanded Kayaking and Camping Adventures
Building on its reputation as the market leader in polar travel, HX has expanded its Antarctic kayaking and camping programme - now the largest and most varied in the industry.
Launched in 2025 and growing in capacity for 2027/28, this programme allows guests to paddle through icy waters and camp beneath the southern stars, experiencing the White Continent’s beauty up close. It’s a hallmark of HX’s dedication to adventure that goes beyond the ordinary.

HX’s Greenland itineraries are also evolving, with a stronger emphasis on local gastronomy and cultural immersion. Following the success of the Greenlandic culinary programme launched in 2025/26, guests in 2027/28 will enjoy dishes prepared by renowned Greenlandic chefs such as Laasi Biilmann and Inunnguaq Hegelund.
Travellers can expect to taste traditional flavours, learn about the origins of Arctic ingredients, and understand how food connects communities across the region. This deepened collaboration reflects HX’s belief that the most meaningful travel experiences start at a local table.

The new season also sees the evolution of the HX Explorers Loyalty Programme, designed “for those that go further.” Featuring four tiers -Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum - the enhanced programme introduces a points-based system rewarding travellers for every night at sea, onboard activity, and even select experiences at home.
Members enjoy exclusive benefits, elevated recognition, and a seamless automatic tier allocation process. More details can be found at www.travelhx.com/en/hx-explorers.
Expanding Horizons, Deepening Connections
HX Expeditions’ 2027/28 season represents more than just a schedule of voyages - it’s a statement about the future of travel. From Alaska and Svalbard to Patagonia and Norway, HX is curating longer stays, richer experiences, and more opportunities to connect deeply with local communities.
Even the season’s brochure design reflects this philosophy, inviting readers to “Change the way they see the world” with an innovative portrait-to-landscape layout that symbolises a new perspective on exploration.
In every way, HX is proving that mindful travel isn’t about seeing more - it’s about understanding more.
“We want our guests to leave with more than memories,” Rainer adds. “This season is about forging connections, broadening perspectives, and engaging in ways that truly honour the cultures and environments we explore.”
