Dining on Resilient Lady: The Ultimate Guide to Every Restaurant
Virgin Voyages has completely reimagined cruise dining, replacing traditional buffets and fixed dining times with stylish restaurants, relaxed cafés and casual eateries that wouldn’t look out of place in a major city. From elegant steakhouses and handmade pasta to Korean BBQ, Mexican favourites and freshly made pizza, Resilient Lady offers one of the most varied dining experiences at sea.
Having sailed on Resilient Lady myself, I’ve eaten my way around the ship to help you decide which restaurants are worth prioritising, what you shouldn’t miss and how to make the most of your dining reservations. Whether you’re planning your first Virgin Voyages cruise or returning for another sailing, this guide covers every restaurant, café and included dining venue on board.
Quick Answer
How many restaurants are on Resilient Lady?
Resilient Lady has more than 20 places to eat, including six bookable restaurants, casual eateries in The Galley, a 24-hour diner, pizza, ice cream, grab-and-go options and premium coffee shops. Almost all dining is included in your cruise fare, with no buffet, no main dining room and no fixed dining times.
Why You’ll Love Dining on Resilient Lady
If you’re searching for the best restaurants on Resilient Lady, you’re in the right place. This guide includes my honest reviews, favourite dishes, booking tips and recommendations for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and late-night food. I’ll also explain how Virgin Voyages’ unique dining system works and help you decide which venues deserve a place on your must-visit list.
Quick Verdict
Dining is one of Resilient Lady’s biggest highlights.
Virgin Voyages has created a refreshingly different dining experience, replacing large buffet restaurants with individually themed venues that each have their own atmosphere and menu. Nearly all food is included, the quality is consistently excellent and there’s enough variety to enjoy somewhere different every day of your cruise.Having sailed on Resilient Lady myself, I was impressed not only by the standard of the food but also by the atmosphere. Whether you’re enjoying an elegant dinner at The Wake, sharing dishes at Pink Agave, making fresh pasta disappear at Extra Virgin or grabbing a late-night slice from The Pizza Place, dining becomes one of the highlights of the voyage rather than simply somewhere to eat.
Cruise Lowdown Tip: Reserve the restaurants you’re most excited about as soon as bookings open, but don’t worry if you miss out. Additional tables are released during the voyage, and it’s often possible to walk up or join a waitlist, especially on port days.

Essential Resilient Lady Booking Tips
Securing tables at the top venues requires a bit of strategy before stepping on board.
Book Early: Sailors can book dining slots via the Virgin Voyages app 45 days before sailing (Mega Rockstars get 60 days).
The One-Visit Rule: To ensure fairness, you can generally only pre-book each specialty restaurant once per voyage before sailing.
Hold Out for Sea Days: Keep your Test Kitchen and Gunbae reservations for sea days so you do not have to rush back from shore excursions.
Walk-Ins Work: If a restaurant shows as fully booked online, a large percentage of tables are held for walk-ins and same-day booking once on board.
The Galley is Reservation-Free: You never need a booking for The Galley, making it the perfect stress-free fallback option.
What’s New for 2026
Virgin Voyages has subtly refined its culinary offerings for the 2026 season to keep menus fresh and modern. While keeping the signature restaurants intact, Resilient Lady has introduced updated seasonal dishes across all main venues, expanding its plant-based options and premium cuts. The Galley has also upgraded its tech integration, allowing faster table-side ordering via the app. Additionally, the ship's curated beverage pairings have been revamped, introducing new low-intervention natural wines and zero-proof craft cocktails to match global dining trends.
My Top 5 Restaurants
Ranking the spectacular dining options on Resilient Lady is tough, but these five standouts deliver the most memorable meals on the ship:
Pink Agave: The depth of flavour in the elevated Mexican dishes combined with the incredible mezcal pairings makes this an absolute must-visit.
The Wake: For sheer luxury, dramatic views, and perfectly executed steakhouse classics, nothing beats a table here at sunset.
Extra Virgin: The daily handmade pasta has a texture you cannot beat, and the communal charcuterie board is the best starter on the ocean.
Gunbae: It delivers the best atmosphere on the ship, seamlessly blending delicious grilled meats with an incredibly fun, social dining experience.
Test Kitchen: It deserves a spot for the sheer culinary adventure, offering an unpredictable, multi-course tasting menu that sparks great conversation.
Where to Eat for Breakfast
Whether you want a quick bite before an excursion or a lazy morning in bed, breakfast on Resilient Lady is incredibly flexible.
Diner Dash (The Galley): The ultimate go-to for a classic British fry-up, sweet pancakes, or custom omelettes, serving breakfast classics around the clock.
The Daily Mix (The Galley): Perfect for lighter mornings, offering fresh fruit bowls, Greek yoghurt parfaits, and made-to-order porridge.
Razzle Dazzle: Head here for an sit-down, energising breakfast featuring avocado toast, acai bowls, or their famous coconut milk fairy bread.
ShipEats: Virgin’s room service delivers hot coffee, pastries, and full breakfast spreads directly to your cabin terrace for a small delivery fee.
Best Brunch on Resilient Lady
For the ultimate sea day indulgence, book the weekend brunch at The Wake. This sit-down affair completely elevates standard cruise daytime dining. You can sip unlimited mimosa or bloody Mary options while tucking into sophisticated dishes like brioche French toast, steak and eggs, or soft-poached eggs Benedict. The elegant atmosphere and daytime ocean views make it a relaxed, sophisticated ritual that you should book as early as possible.
Best Lunch Spots
When lunchtime rolls around, you do not need to settle for a basic sandwich. The ship offers excellent mid-day variety:
The Galley: The most efficient choice, where you can mix and match spicy ramen from Noodle Around, fresh sushi from Bento Baby, and gourmet burgers.
The Dock / The Dock House: A stunning Mediterranean-inspired lounge serving flame-grilled skewers, octopus, falafel, and fresh dips on the outdoor aft deck.
Sun Club Cafe: Located high up on the pool deck, this open-air spot is perfect for grab-and-go Hawaiian poke bowls and fresh bao buns in the sun.
Best Late-Night Food
Virgin Voyages understands that the party goes on long after midnight, and the late-night food options do not disappoint.
The Pizza Place: Open until the early hours, baking fresh, custom-topped sourdough pizzas completely to order.
Diner Dash: Located in The Galley, switching to a late-night comfort menu featuring loaded fries, burgers, and breakfast items after 10:00 PM.
The Social Club: The perfect place to grab gourmet hot dogs, soft pretzels, and old-school sweet treats while playing arcade games.
Best Restaurants for Solo Travellers
Resilient Lady is incredibly welcoming for solo cruisers, and certain venues make mingling effortless.
Gunbae: The absolute best choice for solo travellers, as the circular booths hold six to eight people, forcing tables to play drinking games and bond over the shared grill.
Test Kitchen: The bar-style seating around the open kitchen is perfect for solos, allowing you to chat with the chefs and watch the molecular magic happen.
The Galley: Ideal for low-pressure dining where you can sit at the vibrant counter bars, eat at your own pace, and casual chat with fellow sailors.
Best Restaurants for Date Night
If you are looking to romance your partner, these two venues offer the perfect intimate backdrop:
Pink Agave: The dark, sultry corridors, electric lighting, and private booths create an incredibly sexy, intimate vibe perfect for a romantic evening.
The Wake: Request a table right by the floor-to-ceiling windows at the back of the ship to watch the sunset and the ship’s wake while sharing a premium bottle of wine.

Where to Eat on Resilient Lady?
Wake (Deck 6 Aft)
Steak & Seafood
Brunch 8 am-1 pm Dinner 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Our number one choice - book as soon as possible. Try for a window seat - the restaurant name says it all and the views are to die for. 💡Tip: Brunch is a great choice.
I have got to say this is my favourite ship restaurant EVER, and not just for the fabulous wake views after which the restaurant is named.
I’ve dined in Wake on sister ships Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady and it is just as good on Resilient Lady. I have to say the food was awesome. This is the nearest you will get to the vibe of an MDR with fine dining but without assigned tables, sitting times or the Baked Alaska Parade! It’s far more intimate and fancy, with its elegant staircase and huge windows offering wake views.
Designed for Virgin Voyages by Roman and Williams, the two-storey Wake is arguably Resilient Lady’s most glamorous and sophisticated restaurant. Ideal for romantic nights, special occasions or just because you’re worth it, The Wake offers steaks and seafood in a fabulous mid-twentieth century chop-house atmosphere, together with a raw bar (supplement) - a sort of posh surf and turf. With table-side drink cart service (our mixologist created a fabulous martini), and champagne poured by the glass from a magnum bottle, every meal is a celebration (although alcoholic drinks are not included).
You may find it hard not to fill up on the delicious brioche bread (my daughter ate two to herself!)
I enjoyed a fine razor-clam chowder and Wedge Salad, followed by the tenderest filet mignon I’ve ever sampled. We also enjoyed the New Zealand lamb chops “for the table” which were also delicious. You can ask for all the sides which you can share (the loaded baked potato is to die for). If you choose to dine here at breakfast, they offer a delicious brunch menu - a fusion of some evening menu dishes and more traditional brunch fare like steak and eggs (no bacon or pancakes though). You can even add a Bottomless Brunch drink option for $25 although you can’t use bar tab for this). (Prices correct at time of writing).

Razzle Dazzle (Deck 5 Mid-Aft Port)
Plant-Based with Non-Veggie Options
Breakfast 7-9:30 am, Lunch 11:30 am - 2 pm. Dinner 6-9:30 pm.
You don’t need to be veggie to enjoy the food here - we enjoyed one of our best breakfasts in Razzle Dazzle (including bacon and sausage)! Firm carnivores and we still chose to eat dinner here twice!
2026 Update: While Scarlet Lady now transforms into Lucky Lotus in the evenings and Valiant Lady has introduced the new Indian restaurant Ariya after its refurbishment, Resilient Lady continues to operate the original Razzle Dazzle concept with its popular plant-forward brunch and dinner menus. Virgin has refreshed several dishes during 2026, but the restaurant’s distinctive vegetable-forward philosophy and “Naughty & Nice” options remain.
We ate in Razzle Dazzle for breakfast and also twice for dinner. As a carnivore I highly recommend the slow-cooked Lamb Shank and The “V” Fried chicken.

The Test Kitchen (Deck 6 Mid-aft Port)
Cooking Lab
Dinner 6-10 pm
You’ll either love it or hate it (for me it was the latter). In my opinion The Teat Kitchen is style over substance with unusual ingredients (eel, anyone?) cooked using innovative but strange recipes.
This is like no other restaurant you will have experienced at sea (unless you have been on Resilient Lady’s sister ships, of course). More of an experience than a restaurant, this laboratory-like eatery, making it the ultimate chance for discovery through food. With an atmosphere that is educational, experiential and social all in one, this is a very unusual eatery.
The Test Kitchen offers a six course tasting menu with only a list of basic ingredients provided to guests before they dine and their meal is put in the hands of the chef to deliver incredible cuisine. There is also a choice of four optional drinks pairings to accompany each course (beer, wine, cocktails or non-alcoholic) at an additional cost of $25-$35. Sadly you cannot use your Bar Tab for this.
Note: I would personally recommend sticking with wine, beer or soft drinks unless you are adventurous - I cancelled my cocktail flight after I found the first two unpalatable (personal preference of course). Our lovely server was happy to just remove from my account.
Tip: Don’t wait till you are famished, and don’t expect a hearty meal - think more nouvelle cuisine. Warning - Not for the fussy eater (as I found with my daughter who refused to try the Eel dish amongst others).
Pink Agave on Resilient Lady
Elevated Mexican
Dinner 6:30 pm-10:30 pm
Loved the vibe in Pink Agave and the food stepped away from the cliché Mexican fare with not a chilli con carne in site. Only criticism is the moody lighting, which makes the menus difficult to read.
Spicy-nicey! This upscale Mexican restaurant, accessed through a stunning light portal, offers sailors an extra dimension to their dining experience. Designed by Tom Dixon, Pink Agave transports them to the vibrant streets of Mexico City through immersive void lighting. Offering a wide variety of contemporary Mexican specialties that inspire sailors to discover authentic Mexican flavours including tlayudas, memelas, sopes, tortas, esquires, tamales and an expansive array of smokey mezcals. You had me at ”tiayudas”! Why not grab a pre-dinner margarita from the Mezcal Bar?
We enjoyed the guacamole and spicy corn followed by patatas bravas and an Enchilada and then the ribeye steak which was fabulous. My only complaint was that the food wasn’t spicy enough for my palate.
Tip: order a few small plates, one or more medium and one large plate as a minimum (although feel free to order the whole menu).

Gunbae (Deck 15 Aft Port)
Korean Style BBQ
Dinner 5:30-10 pm
We enjoyed a fun, social evening in Gunbare - went to eat Korean BBQ, and came away with new friends.
We know to expect the quirky and the entertaining from Virgin Voyages, and this restaurant is no exception. If you love Korean BBQ and drinking games then you won’t want to miss this one.
A social, hands on, interactive, fun dining experience, Gunbae features specially engineered flameless grills built into each table so sailors can grill meats to their preference, paired with their favorite banchan. Destined to be the loudest eatery on board, each meal will begin with a complimentary round of *soju for the table and throughout the evening sailors are encouraged to take part in lively Korean drinking games. (I lost in the first round and took the first shot to a chorus of “Gunbae”.)
*A clear Korean alcoholic spirit - not a card game apparently. 🤷♀️

Extra Virgin (Deck 6 Mid-Aft Starboard)
Classy Italian
Dinner 6-10 pm
We ordered far too much as portions generous - the carbonara was simply perfect.
Extra Virgin
Extra Virgin serves as the ship's deeply comforting, carb-heavy Italian trattoria. The highlight here is the pasta, which is rolled and made fresh on the ship every single day.
The Vibe: Warm, casual, and inviting, reminiscent of a cosy communal dining room in Italy.
Key Dishes: Braised pork cheek gnocchi, wagyu beef carpaccio, and the Roman-style oxtail ragu.
Best For: Lovers of rich comfort food, regional Italian wines, and sharing large charcuterie boards.

The Galley (Deck 16 Midships/Aft Port/Starboard)
Food court
Open 24 Hours
Lots of options here, and I discovered the delight of the morning fruit bento boxes.
Firstly, The Galley is NOT a buffet - anything but (OK well, it is sort of but in a different guise). However you will be faced with lots of different cuisines to tempt you. You can pick up your food yourself, but why not take a simpler option. On each table there is a menu - scan the QR code and order (remember to put up the little flag) and a crew member will deliver to your table.
This stylish food hall features a mix of more than eight stands and food carts, including the following:
Well Bread - a dedicated bakery offering delicious sandwiches for breakfast and lunch.
The Sweet Side - pastry shop serving breakfast pastries in the morning and desserts in the afternoon.
Hot off the Press - panini shop serving a variety of breakfast and lunch paninis and sandwiches
The Burger Grill serving pancakes and french toast at breakfast, and delicious all-day burgers.
Let’s Taco About It - a taco shack serving breakfast delights such as eggs Benedict and burritos and tacos for lunch (highly recommend the fish taco).
Bento Baby - a sushi bar with bento boxes (fruit in the daytime and Sushi at night). My favourite was the berry bento box with Greek yoghurt and granola served during breakfast.
Noodle Around - a noodle bar serving ramen and miso soups. These authentic dishes looked delicious, although noodles aren’t my thing.
The Daily Mix - a soup and salad stand serving soups, salads, cereal, bagels, and more. This is where you can pick up your smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel with all the trimmings.
Diner & Dash - a 24-hour American diner serving all day omelettes and breakfast options. Fantastic for when you just want a quick bite or a more casual meal without sacrificing quality. Equally good if you want something a bit more hearty for a casual dinner - think diner favourites like Hot Beef Sandwiches. This is the one of the only galley options for dinner.
The Galley is a very cool, contemporary space plus you can grab a great drip coffee when you are passing. You can either queue at each section yourself or order for table delivery (most queue as the lines aren’t generally long).
Pops & Bubs Cart on Resilient Lady. Image: Cruiselowdown
Don’t miss the very cool ‘Pops & Bubs’ cart offering frozen popsicles (ice lollies) and fizz.
Tips: If you are having trouble finding a table or want to sit somewhere quieter, there is extra seating within Gunbae at the rear of the Galley.
Also, take time on your first visit to see which section does what - it makes picking up breakfast much easier. We got into the habit of picking up fruit and other cold items first before queuing for our hot food.
The Dock House (Deck 7 Aft)
Casual Mediterranean/Meze
We found this perfect to bridge the gap between lunch and dinner when we just wanted a little something.
This is a really laid back space with beach house vibes, one of my favourite places to chill on any Virgin Voyages ship. The Dock House is a rustic beach club-inspired space. Carts of Mediterranean-inspired small plates, dips and mezzes are on offer while an array of fresh meat and seafood skewers will be flame grilled to order.
Don’t miss the daily Mediterranean-themed Opa Hour It’s actually a two-hour event with a unique Mediterranean mezze menu and cocktails held from 4:30–6:30 PM? Like elsewhere on the ship, food is included but you will need to use bar tab or credit drinks.
Whilst I enjoyed a quiet drink here, with the exception of Opa Hour I actually preferred eating alfresco on the Dock - same food but different vibe with wake views.
The Dock (Deck 7)
Alfresco Casual Mediterranean/Meze
We enjoyed some delicious light bites here - so moorish that we ended up double-ordering.
Selection of Tapas/Meze at The Dock on Resilient Lady.
If, like me, you get peckish whilst sunbathing, but hate to leave the rays, then The Dock House is just the place to refuel alfresco in style. The Dock has the same menu as the indoor Dock House, so you can enjoy your Meze and kebabs out in the sunshine, without fear of missing out. See above for menu.
Tip: Headed here instead of the Galley for your first lunch aboard and enjoy live music, and little dishes of delicious tapas/meze type food (order as many as you like - be daring and try the grilled octopus!)
The Pizza Place (Deck 7 Midships Port)
Casual Pizza Parlour
Lunch 11:30 am - 6:30 pm Dinner 9 pm - 1:30 am.
Whilst a relatively limited (but extravagant) choice of toppings, these pizzas really hit the spot,
To get your pizza fix, head down to deck 7, The Pizza Place is where sailors can follow their pie along and build it to their liking from dough, to sauce, cheese and of course all of their favorite toppings. Perfect - anchovies and pineapple anyone? Open late!
Example Toppings - The Pizza Place
The Classic (Mozzarella, Tomato Sauce) (V)
White Truffle & Egg (V)
Chicken Pesto (basil pesto, mozzarella, red onions fresh tomatoes)
Pretty Fly for a White Pie (Mozzarella, rocotta, parmesan, roasted garlic, oregano) (V)
Pepperoni (mozzarella, tomato sauce, pepperoni)
Grounds Club (Deck 7 Midships)
Ministry of Ground.
Too tempting - had to grab a fresh pastry each time we passed by.
Grab your caffeine fix with a custom Virgin Voyages blend and a clear conscience at one of the ship’s two dedicated coffee bars located in the heart of the ship on deck 7. Expert baristas craft your beverages at Ministry of Ground and with the Virgin partnership with Intelligentsia Coffee, you can be assured of their green credentials (Read more on this partnership in my earlier post here).
Designed by Softroom of London, Ministry of Ground features large porthole-style windows designed with their very own window seat. Sailors can gaze out at the ocean whilst enjoying their coffee. Decorated in earth-tone finishes and furnished with aquamarine and purple hues for seating, tables and loungers the space is contemporary and relaxing. In addition to great hand-crafted specialty coffees, Sailors visiting Ministry of Ground can indulge in complimentary light cakes and bites. Ministry of Ground Too is located in The Galley food market, so Sailors can sip their favorite specialty coffee while grabbing a quick bite.
Lick Me Till Ice cream (Deck 7)
Retro Ice Cream SHOP
Served Daily 11:30 am - 10 pm
We discovered the most delicious brown-buttered financier flavour on our last day and I instantly regretted not making more visits just for that yumminess.
This is a complimentary retro ice cream parlour (yes proper ice cream - not frozen yoghurt), serving at least 6 flavours of this homemade dairy deliciousness. You can choose to enjoy your gelato in a cup or in a delightful choice of waffle cones (red velvet cone anyone?) As with everything else edible on Resilient Lady, it’s free.
The Social Club (Deck 7)
Carnival Fare/Soda fountain
Will you be in the mood for a savoury snack (salty pretzels and hotdogs) or a sugar hit? I couldn’t get enough of those retro childhood sweets/candies.
Pretzel & Dip from Social Club on Resilient Lady
A cool place to hang out during the day or evening, with bar games, indoor shuffle board, quizzes and more. All that fun can make you peckish so there is a hotdog menu plus you can grab some pretzels or savoury cracker jacks (for UK Sailors, its a mix of popcorn and nuts - Resilient Lady’s take is a bit more sophisticated and extra delicious (obviously). You can also get floats and alcoholic shakes at an extra cost.
Your inner child is also well catered for here with a complimentary sweet shop/candy store counter offering haribo, chocolate nut brittle, cake pops, and much more.
Sun Club Café (Deck 16)
Hawaiian-inspired Poke Bowls
Daily 12-5
This became a lunchtime favourite - totally addicted to the firecracker popcorn.
Tuna Bowl, Beef Bao Buns and the very addictive Firecracker popcorn.
This alfresco café offers a fresher, more healthier (but no less tasty) option from the ubiquitous deck burger bar. The Sun Club Café serves up Hawaiian-inspired Poke Bowls. For my European readers, a poke (pronounced Poke-ay) bowl is a staple in the Hawaiian islands and usually consists of sliced (raw) fish or (cooked) chicken, with sticky rice, vegetables and sauces.
Thus became one of my fave lunch stops as it is situated next to Richard’s Rooftop. I tried the salmon bowl and also the five spice chicken. Do try the beef short rib bao buns - ask for a double order, you won’t regret it. If you dare, do try the very addictive (and ultra spicy yet sweet) Firecracker Popcorn.
Afternoon tea at Sip (Deck 7 mid-Forward Starboard)
Served between 1pm-4pm daily
I am all about a champagne afternoon tea and this one is up there with the best of them.
Although I’ve said that there are no speciality restaurants as such on Valiant Lady, I don’t really count this as a select restaurant as Sip is a Champagne Bar which just happens to offer this nice little extra. For a modest fee, you can indulge in a fancy (not-so-traditional) afternoon tea experience in Sip Champagne Bar. There is an additional cost of $19 per person ($39 with a glass of Moet), which includes a large choice of loose leaf teas (in a pot of course - Virgin Voyages aren’t savages after all!) to compliment a selection of savoury sandwiches with a VV twist, scones (served with strawberry jam and clotted cream of course - jam or cream first, your choice), plus a selection of little cakes.
Ship Eats (Room Service)
Resilient Lady offers 24/7 cabin service, known as Ship Eats, covering breakfast, dinner, and snacks.
The Cost: A modest flat delivery fee applies, which is waived if ordering any item with an extra charge, such as premium coffee or a soft drink can.
Insider Tip: Order a beverage (like a soft drink can) to waive the fee, allowing you to stock your cabin fridge with mixers for the rest of your voyage.
Ship Eats breakfast on the balcony of our Sea Terrace cabin.
We ordered Breakfast for our first morning - practically everything on the menu between us! It’s delivered in a cute cloth bag which makes it much easier to handle. I must admit the hot food was only just warm but everything else was fabulous
TIP: Order an orange juice or a coffee for a modest fee and the delivery charge is waived. Add several cans of your favourite fizzy soft drink and you can stock your fridge with mixers for any alcohol you may have purchased for your room or to take ashore. Whilst soft drinks are free, bars do not generally serve cans so this is a useful perk.
Insider Dining Tips (Save Time & Stress)

- For spontaneity, try The Galley or Dock House where walk-ups are easiest.
- Cocktails and specialty drinks aren’t included — bar tabs are popular for this reason.
- Late-night food options keep the party going after shows.
Top 3 Must-Try Meals on Resilient Lady
- Gunbae — social Korean BBQ with soju and games.
- Extra Virgin — Italian favourite with excellent pasta and ambience.
- The Galley — for casual, anytime food that still impresses.

Resilient Lady scarlet Night Dining Prep: How to Plan for The Ultimate Event
Scarlet Night is the undisputed highlight of any Virgin Voyage, and your dining plans need to align with this ship-wide celebration. On this specific evening, the entire vessel transforms into a sea of red, culminating in an epic pool deck party. To get the most out of the night, you need to strategise your meal and outfit coordination.
Wear Red to Dinner: The dress code applies everywhere. Whether you are cutting into a steak at The Wake or grilling meat at Gunbae, ensure your scarlet outfit is ready before you head to your reservation.
Timing is Everything: The main entertainment pushes into full gear around 9:00 PM. Book your dinner for no later than 7:00 PM so you do not miss the pop-up musical performances and theatrical events around the ship.
The Crimson Cocktail Connection: Look out for exclusive, limited-edition red cocktails available only on this night at bars like On the Rocks and the Loose Cannon.
Go Light, Go Late: Because Scarlet Night involves a lot of dancing and moving around the ship, consider a lighter dinner at Pink Agave or a casual mix-and-match session in The Galley to avoid feeling sluggish.
Pool Party Chic: Scarlet Night culminates with a wild pool party where late night revellers inevitably take the plunge! If you think you might want to join in, consider your outfit choice carefully and choose something that you don’t mind getting wet.
The "Shake for Champagne" Secret: Luxury on Demand
One of the most famous, high-end features on Resilient Lady is the digital "Shake for Champagne" service. Virgin Voyages has gamified luxury by allowing you to order a premium bottle of bubbles to almost any location on the ship with a simple flick of your wrist. Whilst not exactly dining, who doesn’t want a pre-dinner glass of champagne?
How it Works: Open the Virgin Voyages app anywhere on board - whether you are lounging on a daybed at The Dock, relaxing on your cabin’s hammock, or sitting by the pool. Give your smartphone a firm shake, and a secret Moët & Chandon button will pop up on your screen.
The Delivery: Press the button, and the ship’s GPS tracking technology will pinpoint your exact location. Within minutes, a server will appear carrying a chilled bottle of champagne and two glasses in a sleek, insulated presentation bag.
The Cost: The service charges a flat rate directly to your onboard folio or your pre-loaded Bar Tab, making it an effortless way to celebrate a special milestone or kickstart a sea day.
App Hacks for Securing Last-Minute Dining Reservations
If you miss out on the initial 45-day pre-booking window, all is not lost. The Virgin Voyages app can be notoriously competitive, but these digital hacks will help anyone land a prime-time table at the most exclusive venues.
The 1:00 PM Embarkation Rush: Virgin holds back roughly 30% to 40% of all restaurant capacity specifically for onboard bookings. The second you step onto the ship and connect to the ship's Wi-Fi, open the app immediately (you may even be able to do this dock-side). Tables that showed as "fully booked" at home will suddenly have wide-open availability.
The 11:00 AM Cancellation Window: The ship enforces a cancellation policy for specialty dining. Because of this, sailors who change their plans almost always drop their unwanted dinner slots between 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM on the day of the booking. Check the app during your morning coffee to snag these dropped tables.
The Invisible "Virtual Queue": If a restaurant like Pink Agave or Gunbae looks completely full, do not just walk away. Head directly to the restaurant podium at 5:45 PM. The hosts can place you on a live, invisible virtual queue. They will send a push notification to your phone the moment a table frees up, letting you grab a drink at On the Rocks while you wait.
The Solo Counter Hack: If you are trying to book for one or two people and the app shows no tables, try booking for a party of three or four instead. The system frequently holds back larger tables, and the restaurant staff will happily accommodate a smaller party size when you arrive.
Resilient Lady Hidden Dining Secrets & Insider Tips
Elevate your trip with these lesser-known food secrets for seasoned cruisers:
The Secret "Naughty" Menu: At Razzle Dazzle, ask your server for this hidden menu to unlock meat options like thick-cut smoked bacon and butter-poached chicken, despite the restaurant's plant-forward focus.
The Test Kitchen Menu Switch: On longer cruises, the six-course tasting menu changes halfway through, allowing you to experience two different culinary concepts.
The Dock House Cart Passing: Don't just order from the menu; watch for staff wheeling around mezze carts featuring fresh, off-menu tapas and daily specials.
Unlisted Pizza Toppings: Ask at The Pizza Place for customisations beyond the menu, such as extra fresh garlic, hot chilli oil, or a double portion of goat's cheese.
The Quietest Morning Coffee: For a peaceful morning, avoid the crowded Galley and visit The Grounds Club on Deck 7 or the station inside The Social Club.
Daily Flavour Drops at Lick Me: The ice cream shop offers free daily, changing, and often secret, flavours, with popular options like Brown Butter Bourbon selling out fast.
Signature Drinks: What to Order at Each Resilient Lady Restaurant Bar
To truly complete the culinary experience on Resilient Lady, each specialty venue features a bespoke drink menu designed to complement its specific cuisine. Ordering the right drink completely elevates your meal. Here are the standout cocktails and pairings you must try at each venue:
The Wake: The "Wake Bloody Mary"
The Drink: An incredibly indulgent, meal-in-a-glass twist on the classic morning cocktail, heavily garnished with fresh seafood elements.
Why it Works: It is the absolute ultimate accompaniment to the restaurant's famous weekend steak-and-eggs brunch.
Pink Agave: The "Loco por el Coco"
The Drink: A smooth, smoky cocktail blending premium mezcal with fresh coconut cream, lime juice, and a hint of chilli.
Why it Works: The creamy coconut beautifully cuts through the heat and rich spices of the elevated Mexican dishes like the duck tacos.
Gunbae: The "Soju Bomb" & "K-Pop"
The Drink: Gunbae begins with a complimentary round of traditional Korean Soju shots dropped into beers, but follow it up with the "K-Pop"—a vibrant cocktail featuring melon liqueur and sprite.
Why it Works: It matches the loud, high-energy atmosphere of the interactive tables and balances the rich, salty flavors of the grilled meats.
Extra Virgin: The "Negroni Sbagliato"
The Drink: A classic Italian apéritif that replaces the gin in a traditional Negroni with crisp, sparkling Prosecco, alongside sweet vermouth and Campari.
Why it Works: It serves as the perfect, bitter-sweet palate cleanser to enjoy alongside a heavy plate of handmade pasta or a rich charcuterie board.
Razzle Dazzle: The "Yuzu Gin & Tonic"
The Drink: A bright, botanical gin and tonic infused with tart Japanese yuzu juice and fresh garden herbs.
Why it Works: It perfectly mirrors the clean, vibrant, and vegetable-forward concept of the restaurant, acting as a highly refreshing palate cleanser.
Test Kitchen: The Custom Wine or Cocktail Pairing Menu
The Experience: Do not order a standalone drink here. Instead, pay the premium upgrade fee for the curated drink pairing menu, where each of the six courses is paired with a specific cocktail, sake, or low-intervention wine.
Why it Works: The drinks are an integral part of the molecular laboratory experience, specifically designed to alter or enhance the flavour profile of each experimental dish.
The Dock House: The "Fig & Ginger Mule"
The Drink: A Mediterranean-inspired twist on the classic Moscow Mule, combining vodka with sweet fig puree, fresh lime, and fiery ginger beer.
Why it Works: It is light, refreshing, and meant to be sipped slowly while lounging on the outdoor daybeds grazing on mezze plates.

In closing I must say that the food on Virgin Voyages is some of the most exciting and delicious at sea. However, if you become a regular Virgin sailor you should know that the menus are the same on each ship and do not change from day to day or week to week, so you may find dining gets a little bit repetitive the more frequently you sail. Personally, I didn’t find that as with so many places to eat it’s easy to ring the changes.
