VIVA Cruises offer Christmas Cheer

VIVA Cruises launches seven Christmas cruises for November and December – mulled wine included!

Too soon to think about Christmas? Never - what better way to cool down during a heatwave than with thoughts of that chillier festive season. New kid on the block, VIVA Cruises (find out more about them below) have launched a range of Christmas & New Year river cruises.

Those looking for a different Christmas break this year should look no further and consider a festive cruise with VIVA Cruises. The river cruise specialist will be running seven Christmas cruises on some of Europe’s most famous rivers throughout November and December – with prices starting from just £550 per person.

There are seven different itineraries to choose from on board VIVA ONE, VIVA TIARA, VIVA MOMENTS and VIVA VOYAGE: either in Germany on the Rhine, Main and Moselle; in Austria on the Danube; or in France on the Rhône.

VIVA Cruises’ first new build ship, VIVA ONE (launched in April 2022), will be doing two four-night itineraries on the Moselle and Rhine rivers. The “Moselle Advent Magic” will run entirely in Germany, visiting the cities of Coblenz, Bernkastel-Kues, Trier and Cochem – from £650 per person; while the “Rhine Christmas Cruise” will be calling at Coblenz, Boppard, Rüdesheim am Rhein, Mainz and Frankfurt – from £695 per person. The city of Coblenz, on the banks of the Rhine and Moselle rivers, offers one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany.

VIVA TIARA, with capacity for 152 passengers, will run a variety of itineraries departing from Frankfurt. From here, the “Rhine Short Trip” itinerary will cruise along the Rhine towards Mainz, Mannheim and Strasbourg, in France (from £550 per person); while the “Main Short Trip” will visit Wertheim, Würzburg and Miltenberg (from £550 per person). Both itineraries offer a variety of festive excursions, including visits to Christmas markets and to the idyllic half-timbered houses.

With capacity for 176 passengers, VIVA MOMENTS will be offering two six-night cruises from Düsseldorf, one crossing the Rhine towards Strasbourg (“Rhine Advent Magic upstream”, from £695 per person) and another returning back to Düsseldorf and visiting Frankfurt, Coblenz, Bonn and Cologne (“Rhine Advent Magic downstream”, from £695 per person).

Finally, VIVA VOYAGE, with capacity for 153 passengers, will be offering six cruises along the Rhône in France. The “Rhône Magical Advent” itinerary will start and finish in Lyon; calling at Tain-l’Hermitage, Arles, Avignon and Viviers – from £550 per person. Those visiting Lyon 8-11 December will have the chance to see the famous ‘Festival of Lights’, a four-evening event that will see the city’s buildings enlightened with original light installations, creating a magic atmosphere at this time of the year.

All VIVA Cruises itineraries include VIVA Cruises’ signature VIVA All-Inclusive product, which includes snacks, full board, high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, minibar, beauty products from luxury cosmetic brand, Rituals, Wi-Fi and all tips and gratuities.
