One of Celebrity Cruises’ signature favourites across the fleet, Oceanview Café is the complimentary marketplace-style restaurant on Celebrity Beyond. But calling it simply a buffet doesn’t really do it justice.

Celebrity has created a bright, spacious dining venue with multiple food stations and a wide choice of globally inspired dishes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included in your cruise fare, making Oceanview Café one of the easiest places on Beyond to eat without paying extra for speciality dining.

Filled with light from the two-storey floor to ceiling windows, the Oceanview certainly lives up to its name. This fabulously bright and inviting space is furnished with a range of seating options from long bars with high stools, cosy nooks with banquettes and stylish cafe style tables and chairs. There is also an outside section for Al fresco dining blending seamlessly with the fabulous two-storey Sunset Bar.

The food, naturally, is of the same high standard we’ve come to expect from Celebrity Cruises. You’ll find a wide choice of dishes across the various stations, including salads, pizza, bakery items, Asian-inspired dishes, grilled food, pasta and international favourites.

The exact selection changes, but the multiple-station approach means there is usually plenty of choice whether you want something quick and casual or a full meal. Celebrity describes Oceanview Café as offering globally inspired dishes, with fresh breads, pastries and desserts from its bakery.

Each station is so appetising that I usually forget my rule to choose just one option. I’m afraid my plate is often uncompromisingly filled with freshly carved pink prime rib, a spicy taco or two, a spoonful of a delicious curry and rice - and of course a side salad. Don’t even get me started on the desserts.

The bakery section looks like an edible work of art with all the different types of bread and pastries there are plenty of gluten-free options too. There are options for a range of dietary requirements, although the dishes available can vary. If you have a specific dietary requirement, it’s always best to flag this before sailing and speak to the onboard food and beverage team once you’re on board so they can advise you about the options available.

Breakfast

On my sailing, breakfast provided a huge array of choices, from the great American breakfast with bacon, sausage, pancakes and syrup to a full English, cereals, fresh fruit and a continental selection of cold cuts, smoked salmon, cheese and yoghurts. There is also an egg station offering boiled, poached and scrambled varieties. The omelette choice is a great option - you can choose your own fillings. There are lots of cereals to choose from, including oats/porridge, plus the freshest of fruit and a whole continental section of cold cuts, smoked salmon and cheese/yoghurts. Finish (or start) with croissants, Danish pastries, donuts or cake. There are also Asian breakfast dishes available too. Tea, coffee and juices are on tap or if you have a drinks package you can order fresh juices and your favourite freshly brewed coffee from il Secondo al Bacio.

Lunch

Lunch brings a variety of global cuisine, with some dishes changing from day to day. On my sailing, the choices included tacos, burritos and chilli with accompaniments, salads, pizzas, pastas and sandwiches. There was also a grill station for cooked-to-order items such as steak, fish and chicken.

You’ll also find more homestyle dishes, Indian and Asian-inspired food, noodle dishes and plenty of desserts and ice cream. The selection can vary between lunch and dinner, so there is usually something different to discover each time you visit.

Dinner

Dinner can bring an additional themed element, such as Italian, Greek, British or seafood-inspired dishes, while the regular stations continue to offer a broad selection. Menus and themes can change, so these examples are intended to give you an idea of the range rather than represent a fixed daily menu.

In the evenings there may be a themed night - for example Italian, Fish , Greek, British often reflecting the ship’s itinerary. The usual buffet stations will also still be available.

Drinks are available in Oceanview Café throughout the day. If you have a Celebrity drinks package, eligible beverages can be ordered according to the terms of your package. Other drinks can be purchased separately and charged to your onboard account.

The dress code at Oceanview Café is casual, making it a good choice when you don’t want to dress up for a meal. Even so, normal onboard standards apply: shoes and appropriate clothing are required, and swimwear should be covered when visiting the café.
