What is the SkyDome on Iona?

A feat of eco-engineering excellence, designed by award-winning British engineers Eckersley O'Callaghan P&O Iona’s SkyDome is a glass structure measuring 41 metres long, 29 metres wide and four metres high. It’s a spacious glass dome, the first of its kind on board a cruise ship, engineered to withstand the forces at sea, while giving passengers spectacular uninterrupted views of the sky and the ocean.

Possibly an alternative name could be ‘the Pleasure Dome’, providing as it does a centre for on board entertainment.

Where is the SkyDome located on Iona?

SkyDome is located over two decks - 16 and 17 -and features an impressive glass roof and a pool with retractable stage. So by day you can sun yourself and take a refreshing dip with uninterrupted views of the sky, the sea and the shore, and then when the sun sets you can enjoy evening entertainment as the space is transformed into a contemporary entertainment venue.

What Dining Options are Available in SkyDome?

Being P&O Cruises, you can, of course, expect a variety of delicious dining options. Within SkyDome you will find sizzling grill/pizzeria, and, new to the brand, street food in Taste 360. iThe Beach House Is also very close to SkyDome. Pool time wouldn’t be complete without some premium ice cream from favourite Sundaes There are also some favourite bars here too: Laguna Bar and Crystal Bar on Deck 16 and Sky Bar on Deck 17.

Skydome Entertainment

You can look forward to some fabulous new shows in SkyDome such as Ignite (a DJ laser show extravaganza); a hi-energy rock show called I Believe in a Thing Called Rock; Rise (an aerial show set in a magical aviary); and Triboo (watch two tribes battle it out with fantastic aerial stunts).

WHAT IS THE 710 CLUB?

Also within SkyDome you will find (if you know where to look) The 710 Club - a “hidden” nightclub based on those found in London’s Covent Garden. Described as low-key yet high-class with decor to match. An exclusive adult venue, the club is a lounge during the day and at night hosts bands and singers tailored to British tastes, including acoustic and impromptu performances.
