Luxury river cruise brand, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, have announced new health protocols for guests joining their ships from 16th August.

Uniworld will require all guests to be fully vaccinated prior to sailing and guests must show evidence of vaccination of an approved COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson), with the final dose taken at least two weeks bvefore the start of their cruise.this policy will remain in place at least until 31st December 2021.

For further protection and confidence, guests will still be required to wear a mask whilst walking around public areas (e.g.corridors or the lobby), and wherever proper social distancing cannot be maintained. Masks can, of course, be removed when seated in the lounge and restaurant. While onshore, all guests and crew are subject to local mask guidelines.

Uniworld’s CEO and President Ellen Bettridge. said:

“We’re implementing this new requirement to ensure all of our guests are not only protected, but able to enjoy their river cruising experience to the fullest without restriction,” In alignment with many of the countries we travel to now requiring proof of vaccination to enter museums, restaurants and historical sites, our new policy enables a seamless travel experience.”

Michelle Palma, North American Executive Vice President of Sales for Uniworld added:

“Advisor partners and guests alike are very supportive of this new policy, Implementing this policy adds another layer of comfort in continuing to meet and exceed clients’ expectations for care and world-class service.”

From a guest perspective I find this very reassuring as I need to be confident that everything possible is being done to ensure my safety onboard.
