Princess Cruises’ Phantom Bridge Escape Room

Princess Cruises’ Phantom Bridge Escape Room

If there is anyone who still believes cruising is boring and for the unadventurous, please read on!

Princess Cruises have revealed that their two newest ships, the 3,660-guest Sky Princess and Enchanted Princess. are to feature an escape room. Yes, that’s right AN ESCAPE ROOM!

What is an Escape Room?

On land, escape rooms are right on trend as a fun yet challenging group activity, first gaining popularity in North America, Europe and East Asia in the 2010s.

An escape room is a live-action, team game where players cooperatively discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks in one or more rooms in order to progress and accomplish a specific goal in a limited amount of time. Usually, but not always, the aim is to find a key in order to exit the room.

Princess Cruises’ Escape Room - ‘Phantom Bridge’

The escape room aboard the Princess ships is to be called the ‘Phantom Bridge’. It will combine both digital and physical challenges, involving players in captaining and steering a simulated ship through a range of historical and future time periods. To add to the excitement, the challenges will be enhanced by lighting, sound and digital features in order to create a realistic interactive experience as players ultimately try to find the room’s exit key.

In order to progress through the story, guests will need to work as a team to uncover clues and solve puzzles with the ‘ship’ transforming and responding to their actions. A great way to get to know your fellow guests!

The Phantom Bridge is tailored to players of all ages and physical abilities so families and friends can play together. It features a number of levels, time periods and brainteasers with more than 700 possible outcomes on offer, meaning returning players can experience multiple different endings.

A great activity if you need to get out of the sun for a while, games last around 25 minutes and accommodate up to six people. The Phantom Bridge will feature in a new ‘experience centre’ on deck 16.

Where & When Can you Experience The Phantom Bridge?

The first ship to feature the escape room experience will be Sky Princess, which sets sail in October this year, with the Phantom Bridge available from December.

The experience will debut on Enchanted Princess when the ship launches from Southampton in June 2020.

Princess Cruises is currently offering a 14-day Adriatic & Aegean Medley cruise on Enchanted Princess, sailing from Rome to Barcelona.
