Cocktail of the Week - Pimms Cup
Pimms Cup
It’s officially summer (ignore that rain outside) and, whatever your timezone, it is Pimms o’clock. So for this week’s Cocktail of the Week I have chosen the quintessentially British Pimms Cup.
Throughout the British Summer you will find Pimms being served at all popular events such as Ascot, Wimbledon and Henley Regatta - and at most Garden bbqs and beer gardens.
Pimms is definitely served onboard P&O ships, and possibly Cunard, but I’m not sure if it’s availability on other lines. Drop me a comment below if you have come across it elsewhere! - share the joy
Ingredients
- 1 part Pimm's No. 1
- 2 parts carbonated (fizzy) lemonade
- mint leaves
- cucumber sliced or diced
- orange slices (or diced)
- strawberries hulled, halved or diced
- ice
Method
1. Ideally take a jug (if you want to make several glasses) or a glass and add as much ice as you like.
2. Pour one part Pimm's No. 1 with three of fizzy lemonade over the ice. (Up to you how big your ‘parts’ are😘
3. Add mint leaves, cucumber, orange slices, and strawberry (all or some depending on what you prefer) and serve.
Whilst sliced fruit looks more elegant, I prefer to have lots in every glass so choose to dice it all up into small chunks (end up with a nice alcoholic salad at bottom of glass when it’s drained) .
Enjoy!
