Windstar Cruises Opens 2027 Japan Sailings Early

Windstar Cruises Opens 2027 Japan Sailings Early Amid Unprecedented Demand

Hiroshima, Japan

We may focussing on Christmas 2024, but cruise brands are already looking way into the future at new destinations and exciting itineraries.

Windstar Cruises has seen record-breaking demand for its 2026 sailings in Japan aboard its newest ship, Star Seeker. Joining the fleet in December 2025, the ship has generated so much interest that Windstar is now opening bookings for spring 2027 earlier than anticipated. To meet customer demand, an additional autumn sailing for 2027 has also been added. These highly sought-after cruises offer a unique opportunity to explore Japan in style, including a 10-night Grand Japan itinerary that travels from Tokyo to Kyoto, with an exclusive stop in Busan, South Korea.

“Just months after announcing our 2026 plans in Japan, we’re nearly sold out,” said Janet Bava, Windstar Cruises’ Chief Commercial Officer. “The combination of our return to Asia for the first time since 2023, the excitement surrounding our new ship, and Japan’s status as one of the world’s most visited countries has led to an unprecedented demand for these sailings.”

Star Seeker will sail from Alaska to Japan in September 2026, with the Grand Japan itinerary offered on five dates through October. For spring 2027, there are seven sailings scheduled from March through May, allowing travellers to experience the country during its famed cherry blossom season.
