Resilient Lady Entertainment 2025

Entertainment on Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady

What to do on your Adult-Only Resilient Lady Cruise

Details correct at time of writing

Ahoy, Sailors!

I am frequently asked what the entertainment is like on Virgin Voyages, and I can generally confidently respond from personal experience regarding both Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady. However until last month, all I knew of Resilient Lady was hearsay. That’s all changed following a 7 night Greek Islands and Spanish Sunsets voyage that my daughter and I took at the end of October 2024, and I can confirm that the entertainment is fresh, exciting and in many respects, currently unique to Resilient Lady. Expect a party vibe every night if you want it, although of course you can still enjoy a chilled one if that’s more your thing.

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady, in common with other cruise ship, offers a variety of entertainment options, including shows, games, and other activities held in a variety of venues. However that is DEFINITELY where the similarities end. Forget ballroom or line dancing classes, art auctions or champagne fountains in a flashy atrium - that’s not the VV style at all. You might be surprised to find out that there are some traditional pursuits such as shuffleboard and even Bingo (but not as you know it!). There is no entertainment crew as such - instead meet the Happenings Team who will swiftly become your new besties (especially ially if you join one of the Grog Walks early on in the cruise).

Entertainment Venues onboard Resilient Lady

Let’s first take a look at the entertainment spaces on Resilient Lady.

The Manor

The Bar Area in The Manor. Image: Virgin Voyages

This is the ship's two-level nightclub, on decks 6 and 7 mid-forward, where you will find cabaret acts, performances and late night dancing. It is where you will experience Lola's Library, and Another Rose, an interactive dinner theatre. (More details below). The upper level is really more of a gallery where you can enjoy the spectacle below, and offers additional seating during shows. Seen all those iconic mirror corridor photos on insta? Head to the entrance off the Casino for your own chance to pose (tip - avoid showtime if you don’t want a group photo).

The Red Room

One of the ship's most versatile and main performance venues, you’ll find the two-level Red Room forward on Decks 6 and 7, with entrances port and starboard. The Red Room can transform to offer theatre in the round as well as traditional theatre style seating facing a man stage. This is the venue for The Miss Behave Show and Persephone amongst others.

The Dock House

If chilling is more your scene, then head to The Dock House situated aft on Deck 7. A place to enjoy tapas and cocktails, plus a great view of the wake from the outdoor deck of The Dock. Music here features live music, including intimate acoustic sets, full band performances, and gameshows.

The Social Club

The Social Club. Photo: Virgin Voyages

Let your inner child roam free in The Social Club day and night. A place to relax, play games, and get to know other passengers, The Social Club has a diner, arcade, air hockey, shuffleboard, foosball, and a cupboard full of board and card games.  Add to that nightly Karaoke (the best I’ve experienced anywhere), and a free sweet shop/candy store open till midnight. Don’t forget another photo-op en route - you simply must hop on one of the three Carousel horses. Great for snackage too - from hotdogs and pretzels to Haribo and chocolate peanut brittle, all complimentary and served till late

The Groupie

If you prefer your Karaoke to be done in private, book one of the rooms in The Groupie on Deck 7 Portside (opposite Sip). There is a sign up sheet in the foyer where you can opt for a private room or to share. It’s great fun and totally free.

Sip

The ship's Champagne bar, Sip, is known for being a calm oasis and hosts occasional relaxed musicians during the evening. Enjoy an evening of conversation punctuated by the pop or champagne corks.

Festival Stage

This is really an ethos rather than an actual venue in its own right. You will see it advertised on the App and is usually referring to The Red Room which in between production shows acts as a venue for guest acts, such as a rotation of comedians, magicians, and specialty artists that will keep you entertained with their unique style of theatrics and exhibition.

The Roundabout

The Roundabout. Image: Virgin Voyages

This is the nearest you will find to the ubiquitous atrium you find on other cruise ships. The location, Midships, is the same, as is the fact that it spans two decks (6 and 7), via a sweeping contemporary staircase. But this is a Virgin Voyages ship and nothing is traditional. On the lower level of The Roundabout there is a performance space within ‘On the Rocks’ cocktail bar where various acts perform from solo acoustic artists to full rock or country music bands. Another difference is that the acts continue into the early hours.

On the upper level there is a DJ Booth where there are nightly sets played by various DJs, and don’t forget to check out the adjacent Voyage Vinyl.

Resilient Lady Theatre and Shows

Virgin Voyages is renowned for its stunning and alternative entertainment. Do not expect west-end style musicals and traditional performance shows, but be open to a different entertainment experience. Even if you are an experienced Virgin Voyager, you can expect some brand new shows which have debuted on Resilient Lady (although these may be offered fleets-wide in 2025-2026 season), and be disappointed that some of your other favourites have been usurped.

One thing is sure, if you are sailing for less than a week you are going to have to pick your favourites as you won’t be able to fit everything in. Here are the options for main shows when we were onboard (I will give an overview but no spoilers):

Love, Love, Love with The Hostess

Virgin doesn’t have a cruise director, but they DO have The Hostess (with the most-est!), and you can get to know her at this interactive cabaret show, which explores the five languages of love through music, dance, and audience engagement, offering sailors a contemporary and meaningful experience of love. There is usually one evening and one matinee performance.

Around the World with the Diva

The Diva (Resilient Lady’s resident drag artist) takes sailors around the world in an 80 minute cabaret filled with song, dance, lip-syncing and audience participation. a really fun evening (but the Diva’s cocktail given to reward participants is an acquired taste !)

Persephone

Persephone. Image: Virgin Voyages

An original concept by House of Yes and produced by Kaleidoscope Immersive, this cutting-edge retelling of a famous Greek myth features a rock-n-roll underworld outfitted with lavish costumes and dramatic action. In short, the lead brings depth to Persephone’s transformation, supported by effective lighting and choreography. Although a few scenes seem a little long, the production is engaging and leaves a lasting impact. This is a really popular show as it is stunning. It is on several times each voyage, but I would try to book the earliest possible so as not to be disappointed. (Some guests on our sailing had opted for the last show which ended up being cancelled due to a performer’s ill-health.)

Lola’s Library

Lola’s Library. Image: Virgin Voyages

The Lola’s Library cabaret show on Virgin Voyages is a quirky and captivating experienced that blendsk storytelling, music, and comedy in an intimate setting. Set in a cozy, book-themed venue, the performance is full of charm and wit, with a talented cast delivering engaging songs and humorous sketches that keep the audience entertained throughout. The interactive elements make it feel personal and dynamic, drawing guests into Lola’s whimsical world. While some moments may feel a bit over-the-top, the show’s energy and creativity make it a standout experience on the ship.

A cocktail soirée (get there early) mixed with song, dance, acrobatics and comedy, Lola’s Library used to be presented in three themed chapters that invited Sailors to stay all night or pop in and out at their leisure without missing a beat. However, on our sailing it had been condensed into around 90 minutes which was more manageable.

Another Rose

Another Rose features aerial acts, performed in The Manor. Image: Virgin Voyage

Created and produced by Randy Weiner (of Sleep No More and Queen of the Night), Another Rose is a decadent feast for the senses. This one-of-a-kind experience developed solely for Virgin Voyages is equal parts cabaret, world-class dining experience and theatre spectacle. It tells the tale of doomed love and acrobatics during an unforgettable dinner party. Another Rose is a bold, immersive dinner show full of drama, humour, and jaw-dropping performances. With creative food and a vibrant atmosphere, it’s a unique, unforgettable experience—perfect for those looking for something edgy and different. There is a controversial cover fee of $50 for Another Rose (given that all food is supposedly included on Virgin Voyages). However this does include a three course unique menu plus some welcome cocktails and unlimited rosé wine during the performance. Also you will need to decide where you prefer to sit (all areas cost the same). Choose on the floor if you want a fully immersive experience (but there is more disruption as you have to move between scenes); the booths at the side gets you close to the action without interruption to your dining, or up in the gallery.

Mind Mangler

The premise of this show is as follows: Following a disappointing two-night run at a motel conference centre, the Mind Mangler’s new solo spectacular is predicted to spiral into chaos as he attempts to read Sailors’ minds. Created by MISCHIEF, one of the UK’s leading comedy companies, Broadway World has called this "a guaranteed night of laugh-filled, mind-bending silliness that will leave audiences gasping for breath."

The reality (in our opinion, shared with many others we spoke to) was that it was predictable, and terribly unfunny. It was almost a bad parody of well loved UK comic magician, the late Tommy Cooper, but without the finesse or humour. Opinions are of course, just that and I am sure others will have enjoyed it.

Marc Paul’s Mind Games (Festival Stage Act)

In contrast (and not to be confused with Mind Mangler), this mind reading act was superb. If you are lucky enough to have Marc perform on your voyage DEFINITELY go to see him. He is polished and professional and totally amazing. Coincidentally, during the show my daughter was chosen to think of something from her childhood (as promised no spoilers so I’m being as vague as I can), which at the end was revealed and was totally on point. There was absolutely no way of knowing the information (well obviously there must have been but we couldn’t work it out). We thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Miss Behave

Another favourite, and one that you will find on other ships, the Miss Behave show is not for the easily offended, but is extremely funny. Originally debuting on Valiant Lady, this game show like no other ends with Sailors shouting and screaming (and singing) all while having no idea what is going on. Hosted in The Red Room, Miss Behave promises an evening of wild fun and hilarity with lots of audience participation. one of the best evenings we had on board.

Other Entertaining Options

Whether you are between shows and dinner, or just looking for something a little more low key, Resilient Lady Has some alternative choices for you to enjoy:

The Casino

If you enjoy a game of chance this is for you. There are 115 slot machines on the gaming floor, with 100+ on the main floor and 11 in the smoking room (yes smokers, you read that correctly). Gambling table games include Blackjack, Single Deck Blackjack, Craps), Three Card Poker (Six Card Bonus side bet), Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and of course Roulette. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, take advantage of the complimentary gaming lessons available on embarkation day. There’s even the Sea Roller Rewards Program for regular players.

The Arcade

Spend some time in The Arcade on Resilient Lady. Image: Virgin Voyages

If gaming is more your thing, then you can hang out in the Arcade and play your favourite retro games without spending a penny. PAC-man, Donkey-kong and many more provide some much-loved nostalgia.

Voyage Vinyl

Voyage Vinyl. Image: Virgin Voyages

Voyage Vinyl is a record shop of sorts that (theoretically) sells records, magazines, headphones, and record players. I say theoretically, as whilst this was a feature of Virgin Vinyl on other Ladyships, it didn’t seem that you were able to make purchases on Resilient Lady (although albums were on sale in various onboard shops).

Located Midships starboard, at the top of The Roundabout, Voyage Vinyl pays homage to Virgin’s musical history. You can browse a selection from a wide range of classic and iconic albums from genres, including pop and rock, plus limited-edition and special edition albums. There is a listening station where you can play records from the selection. On our voyage, there didn’t appear to be a vast number on display however.

Voyage Vinyl is adjacent to a live DJ Box that plays sets throughout the day and evening.

Parties & Club Nights

There is late night clubbing every night of the voyage for those night owls amongst you. There is also a selection of themed parties, so pack accordingly.

Grog Walk

This is an extra cost activity ($50 per person) - a bar crawl led by the Happenings team and an ideal way of meeting fellow guests and forging friendships. Held on the first couple of evenings of the voyage, the Grog Walks have limited numbers so sign up as early as possible. You will be given a mask to identify you as part of the group as you roam from bar to bar sampling a cocktail or two in each. You can’t use your bar tab for this I’m afraid but the number of drinks included probably still make it worthwhile.

PJ party

PJ Party Selfie has to be done! Image: Kathy Taylor

Usually held on the first night of the voyage, this pajama party takes place on deck 16 aft in the Athletic Club.  Whether you opt to wear a novelty onesie, character pjs or your sexiest lingerie, anything goes. You can choose to wear your PJs all evening, or like us go back and change after dinner and entertainment is finished. It is a raucous party with drinks flowing (not free unfortunately), a DJ playing the BEST tunes, and dancing on pretty much every surface.

Scarlet Night

Scarlet Ladies on Scarlet Night. Image: Kathy Taylor

The raison d’etre for many Virgin Voyagers, Scarlet Night is THE event of the trip. It is held, not as expected at the end of the cruise, but right in the middle. The theme runs across the whole ship from sundown with Red Sea monsters appearing in the Roundabout and on the pool deck, red lighting everywhere. You DEFINITELY want to pack something red to wear - but if you like a pool party, make sure it can survive getting wet as the culmination of Scarlet Night is a huge pool party where Sailors are encouraged to dive right in (or in my case paddle on the edge). Very crowded, very noisy - oh but so much fun!

Klub Rubiks

An 80s bash held in The Manor late in the evening into the early hours. Think neon, leg warmers and slogan T-shirts - and more. It was a riot of colourful exuberance. I took a peek and it was wild - the best music from the era plus a rainbow laser show.

We Fancy

This is a relatively new addition to the entertainment and is a confetti-filled celebration held in The Manor on the last night. Gold and sequinned outfits feature quite heavily for this late night revelry. You’re instructed to “come as your best self” so you can go all out to dress to impress. However, I felt actually of all of the party’s onboard this one was under-promoted so lots were unprepared for it. It’s also on the last night when most people have packed and put out their luggage. I peeked over the balcony in The Manor, and those who did attend looked to be having a fabulous time.

Daytime and Quieter Pursuits

There are few organised daytime activities apart from a some on sea days. Generally guests are poolside, or undertaking some form of fitness activity (all classes are included in your fare) - either in the gym or in the Athletic Club.

I did join in a fun and fabulous 90s Boy Band Dance Class, learning a routine to Backstreet Boys “Bye, Bye, Bye” on the sports court, culminating in a dance off (Bex, my daughter, was in the opposing team). We also did the VHS Workout - an 80s/90s themed aerobics class, and Bex managed to also get into one of the coveted Bungee classes.

There is deck shuffleboard and also an indoor table version and foosball in the Social Club, along with the huge board games chest. This is where most trivia quizzes with a difference are held (e.g Risky Quizzness). Bingo with the Diva shouldn’t be missed, and there are occasional matinees of some of the shows and visiting acts. The Dock will have some musical entertainment during the day, as will other areas around the ship. Your cabin TV streams all the latest movies plus the best throwbacks, and there is a huge choice of music if you just want to kick back.

Show Times on Resilient Lady

Shows are usually on at least twice per evening, once at 7pm/8pm and again at 10pm (but do check k the app). You should book your dinner to enable you to get to one of the performances - it can be tricky to fit everything in so do plan in advance. Bear in mind dinner can take anything up to 90 minutes plus, so do tell your server if you are rushing for a show.

How to book Shows on Resilient Lady

Whilst you will be able to see most of the shows on the app prior to embarkation (between 40-60 days before), you can only add them to your agenda as a reminder. You cannot book until you are onboard (or if you get ship wifi whilst waiting to embark - best case scenario. As soon as you have access to the onboard app, go into your agenda and book (remember to do so for each member of your party). This is why it’s good to do your homework in the lead up to your voyage.

This is also true for fitness classes, and be aware that in particular the Bungee classes fill up really quickly.

It is true to say that entertainment is the heart and soul of a Virgin Voyages Ladyship, and Resilient Lady is no exception. I hope this has given you a snapshot of what to expect.
