Last year Gary Barlow joined P&O Cruises as their Brand Ambassador and Musical Director for The 710 Club on P&O Cruises latest state-of-the-art ship, Iona. Gary Barlow will perform a short set as part of theevent, which will be broadcast to a VIP audience, in his role as music director. His involvement includes overseeing the ship’s 710 Club music venue and curating new talent to perform on board.

Today came the news that not only has Gary Barlow collaborated on the style, decor and ethos of the club, he will also be performing himself at Iona’s naming ceremony. P&O Cruises new ship Iona will be officially named in a contemporary ceremony featuring a special one-off performance from Gary Barlow broadcast to a virtual audience.

Sadly, this performance, part of the landmark ceremony in Southampton on May 16, 2021. is for specially invited VIP guests only.
Gary was originally due to perform four exclusive sets on Iona in 2020. However Iona’s season, along with cruising in general, became yet another casualty of the pandemic and had to be postponed. Let’s hope he will be on board to perform in person sometime in the future.
