Wellness and Relaxation on your Celebrity Cruise

The Persian Garden, Canyon Spa Image: Celebrity Cruises

There are a range of wellness facilities across the fleet. For example onboard Celebrity Solstice® and Millennium®Class ships (Eclipse®, Equinox℠, Reflection®, Silhouette®, Solstice®, Constellation®, Infinity®, Millennium® and Summit®) you will find Canyon Ranch, which is one of the world's leading spas. Whilst on Celebrity Edge Class Ships you will find - well, ‘The Spa’

Here you'll find everything you need to feel and look fantastic every moment of your cruise.

The Canyon Ranch Spa onboard Celebrity offers a range of luxury, therapeutic treatments and rituals, plus hair and beauty salon, barber shop, teeth whitening and even acupuncture. You can even have Botox, which is one of the procedures available in Med Spa. Canyon Ranch also offer daily wellness presentations plus a “Mindful Dreams” program.

The Persian Garden

This serene area includes a full range of rejuvenating aquatic experiences, including an Aromatic Steam Room, a Finnish Sauna, an Herbal Sauna and Sensory Showers. Unwind in the tranquil Persian Garden, where you can chill or enjoy steam and rain shower therapies. Plus if you book an AquaClass® cabin, you’ll receive complimentary access to the Persian Garden. We did this on Summit and loved this extra R&R option. In fact it was one of my favourite spots on the Ship.

Canyon Ranch Body Treatments

There is the usual range of massages and treatments available, but why not try something different like a Detoxifying Ritual, which is based on the practices of a traditional hammam bathhouse. Therapists use Moroccan mint tea, coffee, olive stones and lemons detoxify the skin, making this treatment immersive and multi-sensory. The aroma is just wonderful. Clay is used to draw out imperfections, and you will then receive a soothing massage. What’s not to like?

If you are looking for something a little more relaxing then I recommend the Aromatherapy Muscle Soother, designed to release tight muscles and joints. The delicious scents of rosemary and ginger help to ease tension. For something altogether more invigorating, go for the Awakening Massage, which is perfect for waking up both the body and mind.

Canyon Ranch Aesthetics

Canyon Ranch Aesthetics offers a range of non-invasive, non-surgical facial treatments performed by a trained physician. As well as an initial assessment, you’ll also receive pre- and post-treatment care. Treatments are designed to smooth out wrinkles and firm and lift the skin. Why not try the Vitamin Infusion Facial, which helps to combat signs of environmental damage? I have promised myself a visit on my next cruise - heaven knows I could do with a little help!

Canyon Ranch Healthy Feet

If you need a little TLC for your tootsies, then indulge in one of the Canyon Ranch Healthy Feet treatments, which have been specially designed to soothe and revitalise tired feet. The Foot Rescue sounds fab - it begins with a herbal salts bath to refresh your feet, and then calluses, corns and cracked dry skin are dealt with. Follow that up with a Canyon Stone Pedicure so you are ready to put your best foot forward on the dance floor.

Try Canyon Spas Mindful Dreams Program

MINDFUL DREAMS PROGRAM

If, like me, you sometimes have disturbed sleep, you can participate in the Canyon Ranch Mindful Dreams Program. It is a curated program of treatments, products and sleeping aids, as well as dining choice advice, expert lectures and special instructional classes that complement their holistic approach to mindful sleep. This, combined with the soothing sound of the ocean, will have you sleeping like a baby in no time

‘The Spa’ - Edge Class Ships

The Spa on Celebrity Edge Image Credit: Celebrity Cruises

The Spa onboard Celebrity Edge® and (soon) Celebrity Apex℠ takes inspiration from the elements to create an environment that is both in harmony with nature and yet undeniably luxurious. Offering no less than 124 therapies and treatments, 8 distinct Sea Thermal Suite experiences and 23 treatment rooms, it really is a state-of-the-art haven of wellness and relaxation. Designed by Kelly Hoppen, MBE, it is also aesthetically pleasing.

SEA Thermal Suite

At the heart of The Spa is the SEA Thermal Suite which includes a float room, where you can meditate (or nap) while you swing, cocooned in floating basket chairs.

Also in the Thermal Suite there are heated tiled loungers with panoramic views, plus The Desert, an infra-red Sauna Room where an infrared lighting system offers many of the benefits of natural sunlight without the damaging effects.

Crystalarium is a stone-walled meditation aromatherapy room with an amethyst crystal at its centre for its healing energies. It.sounds like absolute heaven.

The Hammam, which is Celebrity’s contemporary take on a Turkish Bath, is decked out in sleek marble and gorgeous mosaic tiles. This quiet retreat invites you to loosen muscles with a body polish and soak that will leave you glowing and relaxed.

Other SEA Thermal Suite Facilities

There is a simulated salt cave (which is believed, apparently, to help alleviate a range of breathing and skin conditions); a Mist Aroma Steam Room plus a Rainfall Water Therapy Room. Access is complimentary if you are staying in AquaClass® accommodation.

The Spa - Treatments and Therapies

The Spa offers 124 treatments and therapies including the Salt Stone Therapy, Elemis Thousand Flower Detox Wrap, and Thai Herbal Poultice Massage - I think I am tempted to book a World Cruise just to have time to try them all. Elemis products and high-tech treatment tables further enhance your experience.

Head to The Advanced MedSpa if you fancy some cosmetic procedures such as Dysport® Wrinkle Treatments, Restylane® Dermal Filler Treatments, Thermage®, and Botox®. There is also something on offer called CoolSculpting®. Finish off the makeover in either the salon or barbers shop!

So whether you choose to indulge in a treatment or two, or just relax and meditate Celebrity has just the perfect solution to your wellness and relaxation, whichever Ship you are on.
