Virgin Voyages Launches Virtual Restaurant Queues to Make Dining Even Easier
Virgin Voyages has unveiled a new Virtual Restaurant Queue feature that promises to make spontaneous dining much simpler across its fleet.
Rather than walking from restaurant to restaurant in the hope of finding a table, sailors can now join a digital waiting list directly from the Virgin Voyages app. If a table becomes available, they’ll receive a notification, allowing them to continue enjoying the ship instead of waiting outside the restaurant.

The new feature is particularly good news for anyone who misses out on reservations for popular venues such as The Wake, Pink Agave, Extra Virgin or Gunbae. While advance reservations are still recommended, the virtual queue provides another opportunity to dine at sought-after restaurants during your voyage.
How the Virtual Restaurant Queue Works
Using the Virgin Voyages app, sailors can:
Join a restaurant’s virtual waiting list.
Check their place in the queue in real time.
Continue exploring the ship while they wait.
Receive an alert when their table is ready.
Leave the queue at any time if their plans change.
The feature removes the need to wait outside restaurants and gives guests more flexibility, especially during busy evenings.

Why It Matters
Dining is one of the biggest attractions on Virgin Voyages, with more than 20 eateries and no traditional buffet or main dining room. Popular restaurants can book up quickly, particularly on shorter sailings and sea days.
The Virtual Restaurant Queue should help reduce disappointment by making it easier to secure last-minute tables when other sailors cancel reservations or tables become available throughout the evening.
Combined with Virgin Voyages’ recently introduced Shared Tables option, the new feature is another step towards giving sailors greater flexibility and making better use of restaurant capacity.
The Lowdown
This is one of the most welcome improvements Virgin Voyages has made to its dining experience in recent years. Although you will still have to book in advance to guarantee a table, this will make those onboard, impromptu occasions much easier.
The restaurants remain one of the line’s biggest selling points, but securing reservations has sometimes frustrated first-time sailors. A virtual queue won’t guarantee a table at the busiest venues, but it gives everyone another chance without having to spend part of their evening waiting outside a restaurant.
If you’re sailing on Resilient Lady or another Virgin Voyages ship this summer, it’s well worth keeping an eye on the app - even if your preferred restaurant appears fully booked.
