Resilient Lady - Changes to 2024/2025 Sailings

Virgin Voyages Announces Changes to Resilient Lady’s 2024/2025 Season Amid Safety Priorities

In the wake of Virgin Voyages’ recent announcement concerning repositioning voyages, here is a crucial update about Resilient Lady’s 2024/2025 season in Australia.

Prioritising the safety of passengers and crew, Virgin Voyages has altered the course of the early 2024 repositioning voyage from Australia to the Mediterranean. Fueled by concerns over potential escalations in the Red Sea in the coming year, the company has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2024/25 voyage season plans for Resilient Lady in Australia. This impacts both late 2024 and early 2025 repositioning voyages between Europe and Australia and a second sailing season in Australian waters.

Resilient Lady is set to conclude her Mediterranean sailing season on October 20th, 2024, and will then redirect her course to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for a new Caribbean season offering 7, 8, 10, and 11-night voyages to destinations like St. Maarten, St. Vincent, Colombia, and Dominica. The repositioning routes from Athens to San Juan are currently under review and will be shared once finalised, featuring ports such as Catania, Casablanca, and Tenerife.

Virgin Voyages was warmly embraced by the Australia and New Zealand markets, and the decision to cancel the 2024/25 voyage season for Resilient Lady is met with disappointment. These adjustments aim to minimize potential future disruptions to passengers’ holiday plans, acknowledging the likelihood of further changes. The company values the effort involved in planning a holiday and prioritises safety, providing passengers with certainty and ample time to make alternative plans.

Virgin Voyages is actively exploring options to return to Australia and the Asia Pacific region when regional repositioning opportunities become more viable. Updates on future itineraries across the fleet will be shared promptly, and if a return for the 2025 season occurs, existing booked Sailors will receive priority. In the interim, with the understanding of the enjoyment Australian and New Zealand tourists find in visiting Europe, Virgin Voyages looks forward to welcoming sailors to Europe through two ships departing from home ports in Barcelona (Spain), Athens (Greece), and Portsmouth (UK).

Impacted Sailors have the choice to rebook another voyage or receive a full refund due to the change in plans.
