Princess Cruises gets ‘pizza the action’ with GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS

Winning Title for ‘World’s Largest Pizza Party’ in Partnership with 13-Time World Pizza Champion Chef Tony Gemignani

Princess Cruises has just smashed a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the “World’s Largest Pizza Party” in celebration of their partnership with the legendary Chef Tony Gemignani. Recognised for having the Best Pizza at Sea, Princess Cruises hosted this epic event across multiple venues on their fleet of Love Boats, where guests devoured over 60,000 slices of freshly baked pizza.

Chef Gemignani, a 13-time World Pizza Champion, has created two exclusive pizzas for Princess Cruises, featuring mouth-watering ingredients like Soppressata sausage, hot honey, agave pesto, and fresh goat cheese. On top of that, he has shared recipes for three of his award-winning pizzas, boosting Princess Cruises’ pizza game to new heights.

“There was great excitement on board as Princess Cruises set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the World’s Largest Pizza Party at multiple venues,” said Callie Smith, an adjudicator from Guinness World Records.

Chef Gemignani’s special pizzas will debut at Alfredo’s on the new Sun Princess, adding to the ship’s impressive culinary offerings. These pizzas will soon be available across the entire fleet this summer. To ensure the pizzas are as authentic as possible, Chef Gemignani personally trained Princess chefs at his famous Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco and on Princess ships.

As the most decorated pizzaiolo in American history, Chef Gemignani is a celebrated chef, restaurateur, master instructor, philanthropist, and author. He opened Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco in 2009, which was an instant hit and has been named the best pizzeria by USA Today and the top pizza restaurant by the Travel Channel.

Chef Gemignani’s career highlights include 13 World Pizza Championships, two Food Network Gold Medals, and four GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles. He has opened more than 30 restaurants and appeared on several reality TV series like “Food Network Challenge,” “Bar Rescue,” and the Master Class GOAT series.

The new Chef Gemignani-designed pizzas will be the star attractions at Alfredo’s and Gigi’s specialty pizzerias. These charming, sit-down venues offer a delightful menu of freshly prepared, individual-sized pizzas, salads, wine, and beer and have been voted “Best Pizza at Sea” by USA Today. Guests can also enjoy these pizzas at the complimentary Slice locations on the Lido Deck of Princess ships.

Princess Cruises is now a two-time GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title holder, having previously set a record for hosting the largest marriage vow renewal ceremony across multiple venues on 11 February 2020, with 1,443 couples participating on three ships. Chef Gemignani, who was part of the previous record for the “World’s Largest Pizza Party” set in 2023, now holds four Guinness World Record titles, including “World’s Longest Pizza,” “Most People Tossing Pizza Dough at Once,” “Largest Pizza Base Spun in Two Minutes,” and “Most Consecutive Pizza Rolls Across the Shoulders in 30 Seconds.”
