Introducing ‘Currents’ Zone on Carnival Jubilee Wows Guests , Including ‘Seaquest: A Fun Sub Adventure’

Carnival Cruise Line is set to unveil an extraordinary feature on its latest ship, Carnival Jubilee, as it gears up for the ship’s official naming ceremony on February 24. The highlight is the two-deck underwater-themed zone, named Currents, which promises an immersive experience like never before.

At the heart of Currents is ‘Seaquest: A Fun Sub Adventure’, a concept that transforms the ship’s promenade into an underwater wonderland. This innovative experience integrates technology seamlessly, with six LED portals lining the promenade, a 100-foot-long LED ceiling wave, captivating lighting, music, and sound effects. Together, these elements create an enchanting submarine adventure for guests.

One of the standout features is ‘Change the Currents’, enabling guests to switch between six distinct underwater worlds, ensuring a dynamic and ever-changing experience. As the sun sets, the Currents zone transforms into a mesmerizing backdrop for the evening, with otherworldly destinations taking center stage. Guests can enjoy a drink at Dr.Inks, Ph.D or indulge in dinner at Emeril’s Bistro 717, all within the captivating ambiance of Currents.

Adding to the allure, the zone will feature the Soundwaves Jukebox, a music-activated visualizer that brings guests’ chosen songs to life through a captivating display of images and lights. It’s a unique and interactive way for guests to immerse themselves in the musical atmosphere on board.

Carnival Jubilee, accommodating 6,500 guests, set sail on its maiden voyage on December 23, 2023. As the third ship in Carnival’s Excel class, it employs liquefied natural gas technology to support emissions reduction targets, aligning with Carnival Cruise Line’s commitment to sustainability.

The ship’s naming ceremony, taking place in Galveston, Texas, will be graced by the presence of three-time Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Gwen Stefani, who was recently revealed as the ship’s godmother.

Glenn Aprile, senior director of brand experience and product development for Carnival Cruise Line, expressed excitement about Seaquest, stating, “Seaquest is a truly first-of-its-kind experience that brings together the real and fantastical to create an exciting onboard excursion.”
