New Disney Destiny - ‘Heroes and Villains’ Theme

Disney Cruise Line Unveils a World of Mischief and Magic with ‘Heroes and Villains’ Themed Disney Destiny

Disney Cruise Line is about to take its guests on a journey like no other with the unveiling of the Disney Destiny, a new ship set to debut a captivating ‘Heroes and Villains’ theme. On the second day of the Disney Destiny reveal, it was announced that this ship will be home to a range of new venues and experiences inspired by Disney’s most iconic villains. From a devilish piano bar to a pirate-themed pub, the Disney Destiny is set to bring a touch of treachery to the high seas.

When guests step aboard the Disney Destiny, they will be immersed in the dynamic battle between light and dark that lies at the heart of every great Disney story. The ship will feature spaces and experiences inspired by a diverse array of characters from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel, including brand-new lounges dedicated to the likes of Cruella de Vil and the infamous Pirates of the Caribbean. And with even more surprises to be announced soon, excitement is building for this one-of-a-kind cruise experience.

“Disney Destiny is all about celebrating the bold, charismatic, and driven characters at the heart of our favourite stories,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line. “And who are our beloved heroes without the antagonists who challenge them to prevail? We want our guests to have fun with the unique theme of this ship, and we are having a blast creating spaces and entertainment experiences that pay tribute to the villains, anti-heroes, and mischief-makers who have captivated Disney film and theme park audiences for generations.”

De Vil’s Piano Lounge: A Night of deVilish Delights

One of the highlights of the Disney Destiny will be De Vil’s piano lounge, a lavish venue that captures the essence of one of Disney’s most notorious villains—Cruella de Vil. Drawing inspiration from the stylish and sinister character of One Hundred and One Dalmatians fame, this adult-exclusive lounge will feature a Hollywood Regency-inspired design, with everything adorned in Cruella’s signature red, black, and white colour palette. As guests enjoy sultry tunes from the lounge’s spotted piano, they can indulge in trendy martinis, chic cocktails, and glamorous wines and bubblies, all while basking in the lounge’s opulent atmosphere.

One side of De Vil’s will open onto the Grand Hall, offering guests a prime view of the ship’s main gathering space. Whether they choose to immerse themselves in Cruella’s wicked legacy or enjoy the lively energy of the Grand Hall, an evening at this unique lounge promises to be anything but “miserable, darling.”

Cask and Cannon: A Swashbuckling Adventure

For those seeking a bit of pirate mischief, Cask and Cannon will be the place to be. This new pub will transport guests into the world of the Pirates of the Caribbean, offering an eclectic and cosy setting filled with treasures “acquired” during the pirates’ many voyages. At Cask and Cannon, buccaneers can swap tales of high seas adventures, cheer or jeer during live sporting events, and savour a selection of rare, speciality, and vintage rums, as well as exclusive “bootlegged” brews served straight from the barrel.

AquaMouse: A Villainous Splash of Fun

The Disney Destiny will also introduce a brand-new storyline to AquaMouse, Disney Cruise Line’s signature water ride. This 760-foot-long attraction will take guests on a wild adventure with Mickey and Minnie as they embark on a seemingly ominous trek up Villain Mountain. In the new show, Sing a Silly Song, guests will encounter some of Disney’s most fearsome villains—only to see them hilariously outwitted by Mickey and Minnie’s silly antics. With an original soundtrack by Emmy award-winning composer Christopher Willis and lyricist Elyse Willis, Sing a Silly Song is sure to have guests laughing and splashing along.

A Ship Full of Naughty-Cal Notoriety

The Disney Destiny will be more than just a ship; it will be a floating world of adventure where heroes and villains come to life. Guests will encounter formidable foes like Maleficent, Hades, Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Mr Smee, and Oogie Boogie through a variety of shows, meet-and-greets, and special appearances. The ship will also feature exclusive events and activities that allow guests to interact with their favourite rogues and mischief-makers, adding an extra layer of excitement to the voyage.

Among the many unique venues aboard the Disney Destiny will be the Haunted Mansion Parlor, a venue that will first debut on the Disney Treasure. This spooky lounge, inspired by the beloved Disney Parks attraction, will transport guests to a world of ghostly tales and haunted surprises, all set within a first-class drawing room reminiscent of classic cruise liners from the golden age.

The Disney Destiny will be approximately 144,000 gross tons and powered by liquefied natural gas. It is part of a multi-year expansion of the Disney Cruise Line fleet, which includes the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Adventure, as well as a new island destination in The Bahamas, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

For those ready to embrace the bold, brilliant, bad, and a little bit mad, the Disney Destiny promises an unforgettable adventure. To learn more about Disney Cruise Line or to book a vacation, guests can visit disneycruise.com, call Disney Cruise Line, or contact their travel agent.
