Holland America Line to Enhance Entertainment on its Ships

Holland America Line enhances entertainment and unveils destination-specific productions

  • Four new mainstage shows to expand entertainment offering

  • Region-specific productions tailored to itineraries

  • Rolling Stone Lounge added to Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam

Holland America Line is adding to its entertainment programme with the introduction of four new mainstage shows in 2024. The line has also unveiled several new productions, tailored to the regions where guests are sailing.

The new shows, which first appeared on Eurodam in February this year, comprise:

Song & Dance - set on a studio backlot, two leading men front a concert of musical numbers from Broadway, Hollywood and more.

Class Act - Las Vegas goes to sea in a production celebrating iconic female performers of the concert and nightclub stage.

All That – a fresh take on classic TV variety shows of the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Headliners share the spotlight, combining singing, dancing and comedy.

Hey, Mr. DJ - iconic radio DJs introduce songs from the 1960s through to today in a concert of pop hits.

The shows will be available on Rotterdam, Zuiderdam and Nieuw Statendam by the end of June, with more ships to follow.

Meanwhile, the new region-specific productions will allow guests to experience a different lineup, based on their itinerary. They comprise:

  • Caribbean cruises on Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam and Eurodam will feature the orchestral steel drum concerts of Island Magic, playing traditional island sounds and new versions of classical and pop songs.

  • Canada and New England cruises on Volendam and Zuiderdam will showcase Breton Thunder, an authentic Nova Scotia music experience highlighting the area’s European roots.

  • Europe itineraries on Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam and Zuiderdam will feature classical string music with the Chordial Chamber Trio and Pantheon, a group of European tenors.

  • Alaska cruises will now include a new programme called Destination: Alaska, which will highlight shore excursions that guests can book. Alaska itineraries will also feature the Step One Dance Company, which blends innovative choreography with video projection to create immersive experiences, and the group Major Fourth, delivering harmonies that cover all genres and decades.

Holland America Line also added the Rolling Stone Lounge to Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam in December 2023 and is enhancing its Billboard Onboard music experience with an updated piano bar concept, highlighting a different music theme each evening.

Bill Prince, vice president of entertainment and enrichment at Holland America Line, said: “Over several years we’ve built one of the strongest entertainment experiences at sea, working with world-class musicians and dancers. Adding these new theatre experiences continues to build on our momentum.”
