The vessel, aptly named for reaching new heights in the industry, recently completed its sea trials with resounding success, marking a pivotal moment in its construction. Under the watchful eyes of Captain Dimitrios Kafetzis and Captain Tasos Kafetzis, who happen to be brothers, the ship showcased its impeccable manoeuvrability and operational prowess during a rigorous test in the Bay of Biscay, near the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France, where Celebrity Ascent is being built..
The sea trials, an integral part of the shipbuilding process, involved a series of intricate tests aimed at assessing the ship’s functionality and operational capabilities. Celebrity Ascent, the latest addition to the Edge Series of ships, passed all tests with flying colours.
Aboard the ship during these trials were nearly 200 dedicated crew members, involved in testing and fine-tuning every piece of equipment, ensuring that every detail of the ship's design and functionality met the high standards set by Celebrity Cruises.

Inaugural Itineraries
Setting sail from Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades, Celebrity Ascent has an exciting lineup of voyages for travellers eager to experience its opulence. The ship will embark on a special 4-Night Western Caribbean preview voyage on 22nd November 2023, followed by another special 3-Night Bahamas preview getaway on 26th November 2023. The celebratory 7-Night Eastern Caribbean Maiden Voyage departs from the South Florida port on 3rd December 2023, The ship's Caribbean inaugural season will feature 7-night itineraries to sought-after Eastern and Western Caribbean destinations, including the Bahamas, Mexico, Grand Cayman, San Juan, Tortola, and St. Kitts.
After its Caribbean sojourn, Celebrity Ascent will set sail for the Mediterranean in the summer of 2024. Passengers will have the opportunity to explore Classic European destinations during its Mediterranean season, including a 9-Night Italian Riviera and France itinerary, and the 12-Night Best of Greece and Italy itinerary.
