Amadeus River Cruises Unveils New Ship: Amadeus Amara, Launching July 2025

Amadeus River Cruises has announced the addition of its newest ship, Amadeus Amara, set to join the fleet in July 2025. Designed with sustainability and innovation at its core, the ship features cutting-edge technology, including lightweight construction and a shallow draft, ensuring it can navigate fluctuating water levels while minimising fuel consumption. With solar panels on the sun deck, an efficient hull shape, and a fuel-saving autopilot, Amadeus Amara is set to be a leader in environmentally friendly river cruising.

Innovation and Eco-Friendly Design

Amadeus Amara will accommodate 164 guests, offering more space than ever before, all while meeting high environmental standards. The vessel’s shallow draft of just 1.3m (4.3 ft), achieved through advanced stabilisation and lightweight materials, reduces water resistance, which in turn lowers fuel usage. This innovative approach guarantees smooth operation, even when water levels change.

The ship also features a state-of-the-art steering system, which adjusts automatically to various conditions, such as currents, wind, and waves. This not only maximises fuel efficiency and reduces emissions but also enhances onboard comfort by minimising vibrations. Solar energy is harnessed to power parts of the ship, further enhancing the sustainability of the vessel.

Guest Experience

Amadeus Amara promises a luxurious experience, with elegant interior designs and several new amenities. Among the highlights are twelve spacious suites with walk-out balconies and reading nooks, and 70 standard cabins, most of which feature drop-down panoramic windows and luxurious bathrooms. Additionally, the ship boasts an indoor pool at the stern, offering a new level of comfort for passengers.
