Virgin Voyages opens up Status Match to Hotel & Airline Travel Loyalty Programs

Cruising is undoubtedly a hot topic for summer travel, as indicated by CLIA's 2024 State of the Industry Report revealing that a significant 82% of respondents are planning to embark on a cruise.

To meet the escalating demand and cater to the evolving preferences of travellers, cruise lines are introducing innovative programs. One such example is Virgin Voyages' groundbreaking initiative - the Summer Season Pass. This month-long work onboard program in the Mediterranean promises a unique blend of work and leisure for those seeking an unconventional travel experience and maximised work/life balance.

Additionally, to further capitalise on this surging trend, cruise industry leaders are enhancing their services.

Status Match Expansion

For a limited period of three days, Virgin Voyages have announced the expansion of their Status Match program, enabling even more passengers to unlock exclusive benefits and rewards during their cruise vacation.

Starting April 24 through this coming Friday, April 26, Virgin Voyages will open up its Sailing Club Status Match to honour other airline and hotel loyalty programs. Travel loyalists that are part of Marriott Bonvoy, American Airlines' AAdvantage, Delta SkyMiles and Hilton Honors (among many others - see below for list) will gain access to Virgin Voyages' "Blue Extras," with things like one free bag of laundry, speciality coffee, access to an exclusive cocktail event and more. Typically Virgin Voyages’ Status Match only applies to other cruise loyalty programs, but now, avid travellers can set sail on the high seas this summer in style.

To take advantage of this, travellers need to book one of the select voyages during Virgin’s Sail & Save promo (April 24-26), with voyages starting at £89/$99 per Sailor per night. Then submit proof of an eligible travel loyalty program by April 26th.
