Over 132 Distinctive Itineraries to Choose from in 2023, with Four New Homeports and 32 Destinations Norwegian Prima will homeport in the UK from 5th June Cruises Start at £323 per Person

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the innovator in global cruise travel with a 56-year history of breaking boundaries, today announced that its trailblazing ship Norwegian Prima will be homeporting in Southampton for the first time this Summer season. This comes as NCL enhances its Europe deployment with longer, more diverse, and unique itineraries for the 2023 season.

Norwegian Prima will return to Europe on the 25th May and will homeport in Reykjavik (Iceland), Barcelona (Spain) and Southampton (UK).

In all, a total of ten NCL ships¹ will be sailing in European waters through December 2023, including Norwegian Viva, the second vessel to launch in the Company’s innovative Prima Class, offering 132 distinctive itineraries with 46 roundtrips and 86 open-jaw sailings. Cruises will be departing from 15 homeports, including brand-firsts such as Bilbao (Spain), Tromsø (Norway), Marseille (France) and Ravenna (Italy), and sailing to 150 ports of call throughout Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and the Greek Isles – offering more European destinations than any other contemporary cruise line.

To amplify guests’ vacation experience even further, NCL is shifting towards longer cruises, as 87% of its European voyages are set to have a duration of 9 or more days, compared to 63% in 2019. With an average of 10.5 hours in port, guests can either explore a destination at their leisure or opt for NCL’s wide range of shore excursions, which include six new categories such as Beyond Blueprints, Gourmet Tours and Go Local allowing guests to uncover more of each destination they visit.

“Europe is a destination that has captured the hearts and imaginations of travelers for generations. This season, we're thrilled to be offering even more opportunities to explore this fascinating continent, with the added bonus of having Prima homeport from Southampton this summer”, says Gary Anslow, Head of UK & Ireland Business for Norwegian Cruise Line. “Following the ease of travel restrictions, we’ve seen the demand for our European voyages return  in full swing. With guests from over 142 countries already booked, it's clear that people are eager to get out and see the world.”

A recent study (2) revealed that holidays are up to 70% more expensive this year, with package holidays to Spain, Turkey, Italy and Greece increasing the most. With NCL's commitment to providing an unparalleled vacation experience at sea, guests can rest assured that they will receive excellent value-for-money. Prices for a Europe cruise start at £323 for an inside cabin and include accommodation, meals in the main dining rooms, snack and buffet restaurants, Broadway- and West End-style entertainment, numerous onboard activities as well as taxes and fees. Guests wishing to further individualize their cruise vacation can opt for NCL’s popular Free at Sea upgrade for £99 per person, and receive five additional packages, including Open Bar, Specialty Dining, and WiFi.

Europe season highlights include:

Norwegian Prima’s 10-day Northern Europecruise from Reykjavik to London (Southampton) sets the stage for a perfect vacation experience. It offers all the amenities of NCL’s newest ship, plus wild geysers, and picturesque fjords along the coastlines of Iceland and Norway as well as the lively vibes of Amsterdam.

A 9-day Mediterranean roundtrip to Italy, France & Spain sailing from Barcelona will take guests to popular Mediterranean destinations such as Cannes, Rome and Ibiza. An extended overnight stay in Florence/Pisa (Livorno) allows them to explore multiple historic sites in the lush landscape of Tuscany.

On Norwegian Breakaway’s 10-day cruise to the Greek Isles & Italy guests will savor three sun-spoiled countries in just one trip - Greece, Italy & Malta - and experience everything from ancient ruins and captivating history to la Dolce Vita.
