Renew Your Vows on the Love Boat
The Love Boat Returns For Romantic Record Attempt
Those of a certain age may remember a hugely popular US TV series, ‘The Love Boat’ (1977-1987) which was set on board the original Pacific Princess cruise ship.
Well, now ‘The Love Boat’ is set to make one last voyage as Princess Cruises attempts to set a world record for the largest number of married guests renewing their vows at sea to mark Valentine’s Day.
A cruise is undeniably one of the most romantic holidays you can take and has always been a popular wedding and honeymoon choice. So why not make the ultimate romantic gesture, and choose a cruise to reconfirm your love and commitment to your partner?
Next year on February 14, you could be among the couples sailing onboard the 3,600-guest Regal Princess to be invited to take part in this special occasion as the ship sails the Caribbean.
With a nostalgic nod to the iconic TV series, the ceremony will be officiated by Gavin MacLeod, who portrayed Captain Stubing in the popular TV series ‘The Love Boat’. Jill Whelan, who played Captain Stubing’s daughter, will serve as a matron of honour.
Tantalisingly, there will be a number of additional romantic indulgences offered to guests with more details to be announced in due course.
For this idyllic voyage, Regal Princess will sail from Fort Lauderdale on a seven-day Western Caribbean cruise. Departing 9 February 2020, ports of call will include Princess Cays (Bahamas), Ocho Rios (Jamaica), Grand Cayman (Cayman Islands) and Cozumel (Mexico), where the ceremony will take place at sea.
Romance doesn’t have to break the bank either, with prices starting from £649 per person (based on two guests sharing an inside stateroom, cruise only), with up to $250 onboard spending money available.
So why not plan that once-in-a-lifetime romantic gesture and earn yourself some well-deserved brownie points?
