Regent Seven Seas Explorer to Feature in New Channel 5 Documentary
Regent Seven Seas Explorer Featured In TV Documentary
The Most Luxurious Ship Ever Built, Seven Seas Explorer is to be showcased in a four-part documentary airing on Channel 5 in the UK starting Friday, 23 August 2019 at 9pm.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises®, the world’s leading luxury ocean cruise line, allowed cameras from independent documentary makers ITN Productions to depict the lavish opulence on board, capturing the first-class personalised service provided by the ship’s outstanding crew.
With unprecedented access over two cruises around the Iberian Peninsula, the Bay of Biscay and Baltic Sea, the programme provides fascinating and compelling insight into what it takes to run an ultra-luxury, all- inclusive cruise ship.
The first episode follows John Barron, the ship’s extraordinary Cruise Director, as he gets ready for his opening performance with a new group of passengers, while Head Butler, Raju, prepares the Regent Suite for the next discerning guests. On land, Senior Executive Chef, Michael, and Food & Beverage Director, Stephane, explore local Spanish markets to find the freshest fish to serve in the largest speciality restaurant at sea, Compass Rose, later that day.
The remaining three episodes will air at 9pm, 30 August, 6 and 13 September.
“We are incredibly excited about this documentary which illustrates the attention to detail, professionalism and hard work that goes into providing the unrivalled experience found on board Seven Seas Explorer, and indeed on each luxurious Regent Seven Seas Cruises ship,” said Graham Sadler, Managing Director, EMEA, Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Seven Seas Explorer was christened by Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco in July 2016 and delivers an unrivalled experience. The ship features extravagantly designed theatres and lounges, an unparalleled collection of opulent and spacious suites, five lavish gourmet restaurants and an unprecedented level of personalised service. At 55,254 gross-registered tons and carrying only 750 guests, the all-suite, all-balcony ship boasts one of the highest space ratios and highest crew to guest ratios in the cruise industry, not to mention the largest private verandas in the cruise industry and a new category of luxury suite - the nearly 4,500-square foot Regent Suite -- which comes with a grand Steinway piano, a personal butler and its own in-suite spa and unlimited spa treatments.
The ultra-luxury ship will return to Europe and the Caribbean throughout 2020. In 2021, Seven Seas Explorer will be spending Spring and Autumn in Asia, with its first summer season in Alaska in between.
