Windstar Cruises Announces Inaugural Season for New Ship, Star Seeker

Windstar New Ship Star Seeker Inaugural Season

Windstar Cruises is set to welcome a new addition to its fleet with the arrival of the Star Seeker in December 2025. The 112-suite yacht will embark on its maiden voyage on 28th December, departing from Málaga and crossing the Atlantic. The journey will include a special New Year’s Eve celebration in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, alongside sister ship Wind Star, before concluding in Miami on 13th January 2026.

The Star Seeker will be officially christened in Miami, where Windstar’s shoreside staff, partners, travel advisors, and media will be invited to special events and ship tours to celebrate the launch. Following the christening, the yacht will sail on an eight-day Caribbean voyage from Miami to San Juan, marking the start of several sailings in the region before heading through the Panama Canal towards Alaska and Japan.

Windstar President Christopher Prelog expressed excitement about the Star Seeker’s Caribbean debut, noting that this will be a rare opportunity for fans of the region to experience the ship before it moves on to other destinations. The Caribbean itinerary includes planned celebrations, such as a sunset sailing parade in St. Lucia with sister ships Wind Spirit and Star Pride.

From May to August 2026, Star Seeker will offer cruises in Alaska, featuring options like the seven or eight-day Scenic Alaska cruise and the longer Alaskan Splendors cruise. These voyages will include smaller ports like Haines and Wrangell, providing guests with a more intimate experience of Alaska’s natural beauty. Windstar’s popular Signature Expedition programme will also return, offering close-up views of fjords, glaciers, and wildlife through RIB boat explorations and kayaking.

After the Alaska season, Star Seeker will cross the Pacific to Japan in early September 2026, where it will sail the Grand Japan itinerary through October. Highlights include cruising the Inland Sea, exploring the island of Hashima, and visiting the Peace Memorial Parks of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Additional itineraries in Southeast Asia are being developed for the Star Seeker.
