Cunard Reveals Queen Anne Daytime Activities
From Pickleball to Archery - Deck Fun on Queen Anne
With less than 50 days remaining until Queen Anne sets sail on her maiden voyage, Cunard has unveiled some of the new deck games available to guests aboard its latest ship. The renowned luxury cruise line has been synonymous with deck games for over a century, and now Cunard proudly announces an exclusive partnership with PickleballENGLAND, the English governing body of one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK and North America.
Pickleball, a blend of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, can be played individually or in pairs, indoors or outdoors. Queen Anne’s top deck will feature its very own state-of-the-art Pickleball court, making it the only ship in the world where travellers can enjoy this exciting sport. Additionally, Queen Anne will offer guests the opportunity to hone their archery skills with a real bow and arrow, thanks to a new partnership with Archery GB, further enhancing Cunard’s deck game offerings.
This partnership will bring guests in touch with world-leading athletes and Olympic coaches, with on-board instructors accredited by Archery GB. The 3,000-guest ship will serve as an official Archery GB activity centre, providing guests with the chance to learn the basics through in-person coaching, compete with fellow travellers, and receive a social introduction to the sport.
The Sky Bar and Observation Deck aboard Queen Anne will be a haven for deck game enthusiasts, situated at the forward end of the ship on deck 14. This versatile venue offers uninterrupted views, perfect for enjoying various activities. Golfers can take advantage of the putting green and fully stocked driving range, while the Observation Deck and Sky Bar will also host the ever-popular deck quoits and shuffleboard courts, providing travellers with an ideal spot for friendly competition.
Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, commented: “Whether it’s pickleball, archery, or world-class shows and lectures, Cunard is committed to providing guests with a plethora of activities to suit any mood or interest. Our onboard entertainment has always been central to our offerings, and we eagerly anticipate Queen Anne continuing this tradition in the future.”
