Carnival Celebrates As it Reveals Name of New Private Resort
Carnival Cruise Line is excited to unveil the name of its upcoming Bahamian cruise port destination, which will be known as "Celebration Key." As the company prepares to launch itineraries for this exclusive destination in Grand Bahama in late September 2023, they've shared this exciting news with guests, employees, travel agents, and Bahamian officials.
Celebration Key, the first port exclusively designed for Carnival Cruise Line guests, is named to reflect the vision of creating a celebratory experience that combines the best of Carnival and the Bahamas for a memorable holiday. Upon completion, it will have the capacity to welcome two million guests annually.
Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy emphasized their collaboration with the Government of The Bahamas and the Grand Bahama Port Authority to showcase the beauty and culture of Grand Bahama while infusing Carnival's trademark fun.
Celebration Key, located on the stunning northern island of Grand Bahama, will provide a uniquely Bahamian experience with features such as a one-mile white-sand beach and Bahamian-operated retail and dining options for Carnival guests. The adjacent cruise pier will accommodate up to two of Carnival's Excel-class ships simultaneously, ensuring convenient access to Celebration Key. Construction work for this groundbreaking destination commenced after a ceremony in May 2022.
In late September, Carnival intends to release more details about the destination and open bookings for the first itineraries on at least ten ships departing from various homeports, with the initial cruises visiting Celebration Key scheduled for July 2025.
