27 Ships and Counting as Carnival Firenze Officially Joins Carnival Fleet

Carnival Firenze Brings Touch of Italy to Carnival Fleet

Carnival Firenze Will Be Second Ship Featuring ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style’

Carnival Cruise Line proudly welcomes Carnival Firenze into its fleet, marking a significant addition that enhances the cruise experience with a touch of Italian flair. The ship, previously part of the Costa Cruises family, now contributes to Carnival's expansive fleet, reaching a total of 27 vessels.

The official handover took place on the ship's bridge in Cadiz, Spain, where teams from both cruise lines united to celebrate this exciting transition. Carnival's dedicated team is set to embark on a two-month refurbishment project to incorporate beloved features that Carnival guests cherish, infused with a distinctive Italian influence.

Christine Duffy, the president of Carnival Cruise Line, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "The beauty of Florence, Italy is about to meet the FUN of Carnival Cruise Line! We are elated to welcome Carnival Firenze to the Carnival fleet, joining her sister Carnival Venezia to showcase ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style.'"

Scheduled to commence year-round sailings from Long Beach, California on April 25, 2024, Carnival Firenze offers a diverse range of sailing options. Guests can choose from three- and four-day sailings to Mexico and Catalina Island, as well as five-, six-, and seven-day cruises to the Mexican Riviera, visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta.

Upon boarding Carnival Firenze, guests will find themselves surrounded by Italian-inspired architecture both inside and out. The ship's atrium mirrors the beauty of Florence's main public square, Piazza del Duomo, while the Lido deck draws inspiration from the enchanting Italian Riviera. The ship introduces popular food and beverage venues from Carnival Venezia, such as La Strada Grill, offering classic Italian street food, Mexitalian fusion restaurant Tomodoro, and Carnival's newest specialty Italian restaurant, Il Viaggio, showcasing distinct culinary regions of Italy.

Bars Amari and Frizzante will serve a variety of Italian specialties, with Amari providing craft cocktails, authentic Italian coffee, and biscotti, and Frizzante offering bubbly libations. Carnival Firenze promises a unique cruise experience with activities like Festa Italiana, a deck party merging Little Italy with Lido, the Captain’s Venetian Toast, and Italian-inspired youth programming for kids and teens.

In addition to the Italian-themed offerings, guests will also find familiar activities and experiences from other Carnival ships, including the Heroes Tribute Lounge, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Java Blue Café, Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, and Carnival WaterWorks.
