In unchartered waters, book with confidence with Emerald Waterways

Lots of questions prevail regarding how our exiit from Europe might affect travel in the future. However, if you are planning a trip prior 31st October 2019, what should you do?

Advice from Emerald Waterways

In the countdown to 31 October, book your European cruise with confidence, using tips on how to navigate these unchartered waters.

Emerald Waterways (https://www.emeraldwaterways.co.uk/brexit) asked its EmeraldEXPLORER loyalty guests, and potential guests, what their key concerns for travelling to Europe are.

The top three concerns are:

  1. What if the Pound weakens?

  2. Will I need a Visa to travel?

  3. Will my flights be affected?

Emerald Waterways have created the easy to read infographic shown above providing all the latest information.

Suggested steps to to mitigate these concerns:

  • Book fully-inclusive and avoid exchange rate headaches

  • Check your travel insurance for exclusions

Only 9%* of future holidaymakers have looked at their travel insurance T&Cs. For healthcare, government is working on reaching agreements to continue the current healthcare arrangements until end of 2020, even under no-deal. However, it's urging people travelling after 31 October 2019 to buy travel insurance as EHIC provisions can't be guaranteed.

  • No visa needed

The European Parliament has ensured that UK citizens will not need a visa to travel to the EU for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180 day period following Brexit, even in the event of a no-deal exit. You should ensure that your passport has at least six months validity remaining from the date of travel.

  • The latest advice on travelling to Europe

The UK Government have confirmed EU airlines will continue to operate even in the event of no deal. If you are worried about flying post-Brexit, you may wish to consider a no-fly option travelling by Eurostar.
