Sapphire Princess

Princess Cruises has announced that its new gin-based cocktail ‘Sapphire Princess’ is now being served on its namesake based in Southampton, U.K. until October. Created in partnership with the Bombay Sapphire Distillery, the drink will be served exclusively on this cruise ship, which will spend April – October 2019 cruising out of Southampton..  If you can’t wait until your next cruise to sample it, try one at home to give you the taste of things to come.

Ingredients:

45ml Bombay Sapphire Gin
15ml Blue Curacao
15ml Martini Bianco Vermouth
15ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
Splash of Prosecco

Garnish: Orange Peel Disc

Method:

  1. Squeeze lemon juice into a cocktail shaker

  2. Add remaining ingredients (except the Prosecco)

  3. Add lots of cubed ice and shake well for about 10 seconds.

  4. Use a fine tea strainer to strain the cocktail into a chilled martini cocktail glass.

  5. Add a splash of Prosecco.

  6. Garnish by squeezing the orange peel over the drink, so the oils from the orange skin rests on top of the drink.

  7. Use a knife, make a cut a third of the way through the orange peel and place on the rim edge of the glass.
